Lemme see, I load for:

.45 ACP, .45 Colt, 40 S&W, .44 Mag/Spec, .357 Mag/.38 Spec, 9 mm, .223

All these are loaded on a Dillon 550B for the past 20 some years. The best way to get started is find somebody to demo you how easy it is and you will be hooked for life!

Welcome to the world of reloading!

Yes, but only .40S&W so far on a Hornady LNL AP. I've standardized most of my pistols and carbines to .40S&W to justify the reloading. It's been very worth it, and a fun addition to the hobby too.

I have dies for my new .454 Casull revolver. I need to shoot more to get a good amount of brass before I bother to set that up.

I might start reloading .308, but my PTR-91 chews up the brass pretty good--when you can find it ;)

You won't go wrong reloading to save money and it gives you some place to get away from every thing. There is something peaceful about sitting in your reloading room with all that ammo. Dillons are top notch.

High Power Rifle loads.

You can't get good enough ammo cheap enough, and some Long Range loads you can't get at all (Sierra 80s for 600 yards) unless you reload.

I use RVO for .223 brass. Usually I champfer and bevel the case mouth and just assemble the ammo. The inside primer hole is always done once. I use a Harrell Turrent press, a Harrell powder measure and a Lyman beam scale and load about 4000 rounds a year, minimum.

Right now I am building the State Team load for the National Matches at Camp Perry. This is all ammo for Infantry Trophy. I'm using RVO brass, handprimed with a Sinclair tool with CCI Magnum Small Rifle Primers, Varget and Sierra bare 77s. I usually measure every match load on my Lyman but I will probably throw these loads with the Harrell and check it on the Lyman a few times in every 50 round block. I'm building 1370 rounds.

I also load for my deer rifle, (7X57) and my Argentines, (7.65). If I am going to get Distinguished Pistol I have to set up a Dillon Square deal I have for .45.

It's nice. I leave my set up in place. My girlfriend sits down and we talk while I load.

I have been researched the idea of reloading for that past few months and finally jumped into a Dillon 650XL.

Fifteen years ago my father and I reloaded 9mm on a single stage, it would take hours to produce a few rounds and consumed a lot of bench acreage. This time around I wanted the progressive so that I could build 1000 rounds in only a few hours because there is less of my time available. I’m only going to reload .308, prices have gone through the roof – with 2000 new cartridges my press will pay for itself after reloading twice.

Be safe, KC
