Pretty easy question here. How much do REALLY shoot every month?

1. Less than 50.
2. More than 50, Less than 100.
3. More Than 100, Less than 200.
4. More Than 200.

Only what you are shooting now...not what you used to shoot way back in the day. I know I shoot less than I used too.

since i have been back from the sandbox which has been less than 2 months i have shot, 2 k pistol ammo and 500 rifle rds. that is not the norm but that is what i got so far. on a normal basis it is about 400rds per month.

Ive started shooting more in the last couple months. One reason I got a new CCW that needed to be broken in, and another reason Ive been practicing for a class next month.

June I shot 130rds
July I shot 337rds
August, nothing yet but its still early. lol
September will probly be around a 1K.

We shoot USPSA matches twice a month with one practice session thrown in, which totals to about 1000 rounds per month.

Don't tell my wife.

Roughly 200 center-fire per month when the weather is nice. (that's down from last year because of gas prices) In the winter it drops down to about 50 or 100, but add a few hundred .22LR's.

I burn 200 rds. in each gun every time I go out. Seldom go out with less than 3 guns. 2-3 times a month, 1000 to 2000 rds a month. And that's not counting .22 rimfire.

Even with ammo prices up, I'm down to 2 boxes a week...One box for my carry gun of the moment, the other box for whichever gun is next in rotation to be fired. Like many of you, I don't count the .22, in my case a revolver, since that is almost routine everytime I go out.:)

1200-1500 per month. mostly 45acp and .223.

i had to start reloading. there is no way i could shoot that much if i didnt.

"over 200" is a very low amount for many of us. i'm doing more than a thousand and climbing, not including my fiance who is starting to come out more often.

So far 354 per month,(I keep a log), about half what I use to shoot. The cost is getting to be a real budget factor for me,:banghead: between range time, ammo and gun buying. I need to win the lotto or something. :D

Ammo is expensive, and that is the main reason behind the poll.
Honestly I shoot around 100rds a week....sometimes more sometimes less. I probably average around 500 rds a month these days.

However, in the interest of full disclosure I have to admit I do reload and I also still have a good supply of components from when a local gunshop got out of the reloading games a couple of years ago.....I cleaned him out when he reduced his inventory.

Honestly I could not afford to drop 300 dollars a month on ammo......and I know most people cannot either. Frankly, I think most people on the net overstate the amount they actually shoot.

And no offense to the new guys here, but I have noticed for a long time that newbs tend to all shoot "1000 rounds a month."

Close to 400 rounds a month. I shoot CAS with 3 clubs. I couldn't do it if I didn't reload. We shoot moving targets, thrown birds, reactive targets and a lot of metal plates.

rounds

this being the first month i have owned a handgun... i got it on july 4. i have shot around 700 this month. need to get aquainted with the gun and get readt for a chl class next month. this would be higher if for two weeks i was at the rig where i can't take my gun for fear of being searched and fired if it was found. that is bnot including 22lr either.

rim fire~750
center fire pistol~1500
center fire rifle~500
this includes rounds fired for instructional use: perhaps 20%

What's up with these polls? They max out so low.

200 rounds? I do over that in a day. Give me an hour and I can run through 200 rounds.

Including rimfire, I'll probably shoot around 2900 rounds a month.

When I was really serious about USPSA, I was shooting about 1500 rounds per week. Every minute that I wasn't shooting, I'm pretty sure that I was reloading. Now it is down to 300-500 per week. A minimum range session is 150 rounds, my maximum range session is 300. And yes, reloading is not optional when you shoot that much.

I will admit that 50 rounds of well planned and perfectly executed practice is ample to maintain skills- as long as it is coupled with prodigious amounts of dry practice.
