How many rounds do you average?

I shoot every Saturday at our small farm. Volume wise I am down about 50%. Right now shooting about 100 various pistol rounds, 50 or so 22 rounds, and 20 or so rifle rounds each time I get out. That still adds up over a year. I reload and also have been pulling from my stockpile that has been built up over 20 years. I can go about 5 years at this pace before I run out of my component and ammo stockpile. Its funny, 18 months ago I would have told you I could go a decade or more without purchasing anything. But I never really did the math and was too optimistic.

Circumstances have affected my shooting lately.
I laid one of my semis over and found myself on the passenger window still holding the steering wheel. I pulled it right off the dashboard.. Shoulder surgery followed in January.

Then the shortages hit....

?..and the pandemic ..?

I still shoot maybe a hundred rounds a month through one or two of my carry pistols, just to stay fresh. I have been shooting my 1911 more because a have the 1911 22lr and also a decent amount of lpp for reloading. 45acp.

Most weekends find me at the gun club with my son.
Not sure about round count but between the two of us we usually fill a couple of big plastic coffee cans with fired brass from handguns alone.
I usually try to shoot at least twenty rounds through each revolver, so working my way through them takes several hours.
Also do speed drills with the double action revolvers usually an additional twenty rounds each, plus multiple magazines through the semi auto handguns.
So...probably close to 500 rounds. My son shoots more than I because he shoots more magazine loads in speed drills.

Most weeks I reload about 7-800 rounds of big bore revolver ammunition and my son reloads 500 round batches of .357Mag, 9mm, 10mm, .40S&W and .45ACP about every three weeks or so.

I go about 3 times a month on average. I used to shoot 300 to 400 rounds per trip. This year I've been doing closer to 200 to 300 per trip with more 22lr thrown in the mix. I've been focusing more on bolt action rifles and revolvers to slow down the pace. I've been bringing my chronograph on most visits which also helps to keep shooting at a more moderate pace.

I had a couple year supply of reloading components when this all started. Last year I didn't really spend anything on ammo and shot as much as ever before. This year I still haven't bought anything but have cut back on shooting by at least 25% to try and stretch out my supply.

Outdoor range for me is about an hour drive and I try to average one trip per week, maybe two. Retired so time really is not a factor. I normally start out with rifle, a few calibers, then move down to handgun and sometimes hit the 50 foot short range for 22 LR. Typically maybe 100 to 200 .308 Winchester and or .223 Remington (more or less with a few other calibers tossed in). Maybe 200 of 22 LR between pistol and rifle and maybe 200 other handgun. I leave my house around 7:00 AM and might spend 8 hours on the range then come home. I bring along lunch and Gatorade. :)

Twice a week most of the /spring-summer months. Twice weekly Fall thru End of December. Once weekly winter.

Round count hard to say. 85% of my shooting is percussion revolvers and 96 rounds would be a good two hour range session. It’s one of the ways to weather this Ammo/components shortage.

Usually, 200-300 .22 LR and 50-100 9MM, .45 ACP, or .40 SW. Sometimes 10 rounds of .303 British, but I don't shoot my Enfield a lot anymore. I usually shoot once a month.

Sounds like I am shooting about like most people here. Of course we are probably more inclined to hit the range more, as shooters on a shooting forum, than most other people.

I do enjoy my time at the range, and spending time with my father. I would assume most of us that do shoot higher round counts are probably reloaders also. That's a skill I am thankful my father taught me. Before reloading, I only averaged around 500 rounds a year with my centerfire guns. Oh how times have changed lol.

Surprisingly, fewer rounds of rifle and handgun since I retired. Components are not a problem. Got hundreds of pounds of lead, plenty of powder, primers, lube. Somehow the time element seems shorter. Grandkids, wife's health issues, church and civic work have expanded. Gonna make a change or two. Moved after 40 years and the "loading shop" is not back up to snuff. I can crank out a weeks worth of trap loads in an hour.

Once a week, training, generally no more that 100 per trip, unless I'm testing new loads, then a lot less. Nowadays I find I have diminishing returns if I draw over that much and I'm just wasting ammo.

WOW you guys shoot a LOT! No way I could find enough ammo to attempt that volume. I'll shoot maybe one or two 50rnd boxes of rimfire once a week.. My .22s are mostly squirrel rifles. I shoot to check zero (almost never off) followed by a box or so for fun. If my wife goes, we maybe shoot 100-200 rnds with 22 pistols. I no longer practice with my 9mm or 380; can't find affordable ammo. If I'm testing loads, I'll shoot 25 then return to the reloading bench to tweak. Getting ready for deer season, maybe 4-5 rounds to assure zero. Shooting prairie dogs last time out with my buddy, we burned thru about 350 rnds of 17HMR and maybe 50 rounds of .223 and a couple dozen .204.

not enough. usually 200-500, but I always pack some quantity of ammo fully intending to shoot it all for various reasons, and always go home with 1/2 to 1/3 of it, just from gettting tired or running out of time.

Most weeks something like 200 rounds of handgun ammo or rimfire at the local indoor range. A couple times a month I go hit an outdoor spot and usually shoot black powder, although sometimes will shoot centerfire rifle. That is for March through August. September through February I might make it to the indoor range a couple times a month, tops, but about every weekend I am in the field hunting at least one day plus however long the 3 or 4 big game seasons last.

Damn man. That must've been quite a ride. Glad you're alright.

Same here. I usually bring g 4-5-7 guns fully intending to shoot them, and fully wanting to, but I noticed I generally stick to 2, maybe 3 guns and never get around to the others. Doesn't stop me from hauling hundreds of pounds worth of gear up the hill and setting it all up.

You'd think I'd have learned by bow....
