How many "Wal-Mart" guns do you own?

I support my local dealers...plus Walmart is usually more money than the locals...and I get free work and cheaper ammo for buying so much.

So I have 0 Walmart guns at last count about 50 long guns from locals and private individuals.

Plus, I was wondering this...does it seem that Walmart is getting rid of their hunting sections slowly? Maybe its just the new super Walmarts in Western NY but I havent even seen guns there in a while.

None, they're factory seconds.

No, they are not factory seconds. They are also not all "bone stock".

I have two Wal-Mart 10/22 specials. I just had to have those laminated green stocks that only the Ruger/Wal-Mart guns had. The SS International with the green stock is sweet!

2 Wally world rifles

I support Walmart because it keeps the local gun dealer prices down. I just started getting into rifles it may be a little too late because I'm over 50 now. So far my collection from Walmart is a Marlin V 17 HMR and a Savage 10FX 243 cal. I haven't fired the savage yet. Oh yeah I also buy a rifle from Academy, one Persuader Mossberg 500 12 gauge. The local sporting goods seems to provide a better price tag than the local gun dealers at least the one that I saw.

I have 3. A 243 Rem SPS, 30-06 BDL, Ruger 10-22 stainless. All three are great guns. I am planning on buying another after christmas. my local dealer wants 200 more then Walmart or Buds and ammo is 25% more.

Wal*Mart.....Guns?

I just ran across this thread. Some interesting posts. Primarily "I hate Wally World" remarks. Just a couple of points to make here regarding Wal*Mart guns.

1. Their guns are ordered from the same warehouse as the "little guy".
2. Factory seconds? Yea, right.
3. They are the reason quality has plummeted. Really? Guess what, people want low prices. If not WM would not be in business. Don't like WM? *Don't shop there*."Please step aside, we have customers waiting line behind you".
4. "Bad gun. Jams. I won't buy there". WM purposely buys guns that jam to piss you off. Yea, right.
5. Yada, Yada

Some comments are made by "I know all about guns *growl*people. Take a deep breath and relax. Please don't buy any guns from WM....they won't miss your smart ass.

OK, I admit it. I work at Wal*Mart. In the Sporting Goods dept of all places! I don't excuse WM stores that have people who "don't know what they are doing". With 3500 stores world wide, I'm sure there are some stores that don't have people who know how to sell guns, etc. If you are such a gun expert, you should "know it all" and not have any questions.:)

I bought one from them, then they stopped selling guns. But one still had a muzzleloader, picked up one of those, so I guess 2.

I buy a metric poop ton of ammo from WM though. Sorry, they're the cheapest by FAR on ammo for me.

They are a Ruger Mini-14, Marlin 1894c, Winchester 1400 MKII, Remington 1100, Ruger 10/22, Marlin 917V and a Lakefield youth 22.Wow! Walmart sold Mini-14s.

IMO the advantage of an independent local dealer comes down to knowledge, lots of selection, trustworthiness, and superior service. I can understand wanting to support local businesses, and the gun shops in my area thankfully are all straight-up guys, but a local gun shop that has high prices coupled with poor customer service has zero moral superiority versus a Wal-Mart.

None. I support local dealers.
I would also support chains that don't sell us out, such as Cabela's, Gander Mountain, etc.. but have not bought from any of those either yet.
