I live in good old Tennessee. The state is divided into 3 units and the number if does allowed to be taken vary by unit. Three bucks are allowed to be taken over the course of archery, muzzle loader, and rifle seasons. The unit I live in also allows you take 3 does per day. So how does this compare to your state/hunting area?

Missouri has unlimited does. Total of three bucks 1 with rifle, 2 with bow . I try to get 10 per season.
I usally quit with 10 because I'm sick of processing them.

One Buck, must have at least 4 points on one side. No limit on Does, all you want to buy !

@BK, no limit on does...can take 3 per day throughout the entire season in my unit. The other two units have a much lower limit...can't remember exactly how many (dont have the regs in front of me).

Last season it was, several bucks in the season and 5 does per day... I think it's the same this season.

An interesting thing about our regs (and it may be like this everywhere) is they do not classify them as buck and doe, but as antlered and antlerless. So if you shoot a deer with antlers less than 4 inches it is considered antlerless and doesn't go against the antlered limit. This is good because it would be a bummer to think you were shooting a doe for meat and have a spike take up one of your buck tags.

Up to 6; one of which can be antlered. The bag limit is the sum total taken with all weapons (e.g. 2 bow, 3 firearm, 1 black powder).

What the heck. The east coast really has so many deer, you can take that many does?? Never heard of that anywhere I've ever lived (all over the west coast).

Here in AZ, its one buck per year. Zero does. And in most of AZ's GMUs, to even get that one tag, you have to win a lottery-style draw.

Deer are everywhere here. I saw about 6 on my way to work this morning. On any given morning or evening you can drive around through the country and see deer.

Harvesting does is encouraged in South Dakota. When i failed to draw my "any deer" permit (the area I hunt is about 50/50 between whitetail and mule deer) the only way I could get any sort of buck tag was to purchase a "any whitetail" tag ALONG WITH two anterless tags....purchasing a single buck tag was not an option. AS I only need a single deer....but am aware of the overpopulation, I will probably donate at least one doe to the Hunters against Hunger program, which pays the processing fee and provides meat to needy families

2 bucks using either bow rifle handgun or muzzle loader per year in regular deer season. If the popluation warants they will also issue doe tags.

Missouri is similiar divided into 3 sections and about 3/4 of the state has no limit on antlerless, the 2 other sections limit the number of does by limiting anterless tags or only allow does to be taken on an any deer.

PA is one antlered the entire season. And antlerless are based on management units. There are a lot of units. Two south east units have high quotas and you can buy the tags over the counter and it's unlimited. Other units you are limited to three total at a time across all units. A lot of units sell out after the first round of issuing. Direct link won't work. Go here and then click doe license update on the right to see current availability: http://www.pgc.state.pa.us

DEER Limits for Alabama
ANTLERED BUCKS – bare antlers visible above natural hairline – Statewide – one a day. WHITE-TAILED BUCK LIMIT – three during all combined seasons. One of the three must have at least 4 antler points 1” or longer on one antler (except for Barbour County). A point is an antler projection of at least one inch in length from base to tip. Main beam tip shall be counted as a point regardless of length. BARBOUR COUNTY ANTLER RESTRICTION –white-tailed deer bucks must have a minimum of three points on one side, (except on the statewide special youth deer hunting date).
UNANTLERED DEER (except spotted fawns) – During the Unantlered Deer Gun, Special Muzzleloader, Bow and Arrow, Spear, and Special Youth (under 16) Seasons, two deer per day – only one of which may be an antlered buck (two unantlered deer; or, one unantlered deer and one antlered deer).
Combined seasons run from Oct. 15th-Jan.31st.

One buck per calendar year, if you're successful in the lottery draw. There are a few over the counter leftover tags and archery is over the counter. But only one buck per calendar year.

MN is differnt by zone, up until this year you could have 5 deer (1 buck) with a rifle, 1 with a muzzle loader, and 1 via archery. THis year I think its only 2 per rifle.

I'm no expert, but in PA I think it's one buck, and possibly two does depending on tags you get. Big controversy in PA is the antler restrictions; where I hunt, a buck has to have four points on one side.

NY is similar with regard to numbers, although I think I remember that if you take a buck during archery season, you can apply for a replacement tag that allows another buck during gun. Also in NY, doe tags (Deer Management Permits) are transferable, so it's possible to have more than two doe tags in your possession.

Purchase two buck tags, archery and gun.....four antler less tags each year.

One farmer in our area has 250 depredation tags.....lots of corn damage!
