How much for an ak47

There's an ak47 for i think 400-450$ in a gunstore I've been looking at, but I don't know the make of it. Isn't there a big difference in price by where it was made and things like that? Like what would an avg price be until I can look at it closer and get more info?

Impossible to say without knowing brand, age, etc. Modern AK clones run from about $300 all the way up to over $1,000, depending on who makes them, level of equipment, etc.

(And, BTW, it isn't an AK-47: that's the original, full-auto assault rifle. All "civilian" AK's are clones of that original gun, and will have a different name according to the manufacturer.)

$15,000 for a transferable AK-47, plus the mandatory six to eight month clearance process to get your Form 4.

$350-$400 for non-automatic Romanian AKM lookalikes (WASR-GP's or SAR-1's). Chinese AK lookalikes (MAK-90, etc.) will be a bit more expensive, and the other nationalities (Hungarian, Russian, etc.) considerably higher. The more you pay, the better fit and finish you get, and a bit more accuracy, but all of them are absolutely reliable.

I'd avoid anything made by Hesse, though (no longer imported, but a few may still turn up here and there).

Be careful, I have seen people try to sell Romanian WASR's for prices like that on occasion. Those should be under $400 in most cases.

I've been thinking about these from aimsurplus, but with the shortage and price increase in 7.62x39 it's on the back burner.

Of course I mean semi-auto. I am just really sick of my .22 and want something fun to shoot. However I know ammo price for the 7.62 is getting higher, so basically anything that is cheap and really fun to shoot. What about carbines and stuff? I really like the m1's but I'm very new to this stuff so I don't know much.

If you're looking for cheap, stay away from the M1 Carbine. Price ammo and go from there. I prefer to buy the gun I want and not what is cheaper to shoot. I once made the mistake of choosing a gun because of the ammo prices. I'll never make that mistake again.
