How often do you open the safe and fiddle / fondle?

Not very often anymore unless I am going shooting. Once a month choice for me for anything other than grabbing what I want to take shooting. I handle/fondle guns far more often if they are not in a safe. I wipe things down every couple of months.

Since I carry, I handle a gun daily; no need to open the safe. But probably a couple times a week when I rotate carry guns.

I don't open it up very often, only to do something beyond fondling.
8-11 times per year is my guess, but maybe more often than that, I'm not real sure. Maybe once every 6 weeks.

5 times a week for me normally it is to check scopes, mags, and do a nice wipedown. Also I like to check out new changes or additions regularly.

I'll pull them all out to wipe down/relube every 6-12 months, just to make sure I don't have any rust going on, etc... not that I would expect any, and I think that my schedule for that sort of "preventative maintenance" is more aggressive that it would really need to be.

Other than that I only take them out if I am going to change a configuration/shoot them/other reason with actual action behind it.

I agree. Left several 22 rifles at my Dad's for 15 years with no wiping or inspection. One was there for far longer. They were just fine when I finally figured out where the heck those guns were versus being stolen which made no sense to me.

I only handle them to carry, maintain, put in my range bag, etc. or put them away. Since I almost always carry at least one, the thrill just isn't there. I save fiddle/fondle for my significant other.

The reason is because I keep anything of importance in there such as credit cards,401K info,check book,extra house and vehicle keys,etc. so many times I must open it to retrieve it.

It depends on what safe, I voted 3 times a week. No fondling, I am either taking them out to shoot, work on or to take photographs.

I will usually pull out something to clean at least 2-3 times a week. I clean the ones that have been sitting for a long time. I don't get everything out to shoot all the time so some stuff sits. This way everything stays nice and clean all the time.

My guns go in the safe at night. When I am home, it is generally open as I am alway tweaking, cleaning, or fiddling with at least one of them. How often I "fondle" them is none of your business.

The plan is to clean/lube one firearm each evening. I have come to the conclusion that I will have to clean at least 2-3 every day to be able to clean each one three times a year.

I work overseas on a 28/28 rotation (I'm at work now). I think about what's in my safe and what I would like to be in my safe 100 times a day while at work. So, when I get home, I piddle and fondle I don't know how many times a day. Take one out, go out back, shoot it, clean it, return to the safe, "exchange" for another, repeat.

Additionally, I spend most of my free time while at work between THR, cabelas.com, basspro.com, etc. gathering ideas and planning/plotting my days off. God Bless you all!

Not quite once a month for me. I sometimes go into the safe to check out some feature on a gun to answer a question on THR or some other forum.
