It depends on what's new, I settled on once a week average. That reminds me, I better go look at my "new" shotgun. I put a shorter barrel on it two days ago. Better check out my new sks too...that's it, I'm going fondling!

Once in the morning putting the Pacifier to bed in the safe while the kids are awake.

Once at night bringing it back out to nest under the bed at night.

Once or twice a week to work muscle memory, or to punch some paper.

If something is new....maybe more; but I voted 3 times per week.

After everyone goes to bed, I get one or two out, clean and yes "Fondle" :what:

I carry a weapon daily, so I have no need to open up the gun safe to "fondle" any of my weapons. Sounds a bit like a fetish, if you are sitting around "playing" with your firearms.

I'm at the safe a couple times a day. Once in the morning to put away the bedside gun and retrieve the conceal carry. And in the evening to get that nights couch fondling gun and before bed to get the bedside gun.

Most of the time now days to try to get use to sighting and shooting left handed as I have lost the sight in my right eye.

that's it, I'm going fondling!

Perv! :)

Sounds a bit like a fetish, if you are sitting around "playing" with your firearms.

You got that straight, Jack! :D

The hardest part by far, is not being able to dry fire my rimfires, at least not without using empty casings....

....to get that night's 'couch fondling gun', ...

Bwaahahahaha, I'm not the only one.

Once in the morning to get the carry choice. Once in the evening to put it back. 7 days a week.

We are sick....

notice I said we.....

When I read "fondle" I knew my secret was out. I try to not do it in public but my wife once saw me with one of my Barretta shotguns and she asked me "exactly what are you doing?!" I said I was brushing the dust off, she looked at the rest of the safe contents and said "there's no dust on these". I turned away before she saw the stain on my pants.:D

It really depends! If I have just purchased a new gun I will fondle it more frequently until the newness wears off. Under normal circumstances I guess I would average opening the safe 2 to 3 times a week. Since I store more then guns in the safe sometimes I will not even touch the guns though.

I'm in the 2 times/day group. Once before I leave for work to get my wifes gun out, and again in the evenings to put hers up. She's a stay at home mom so she likes to have one avail easily when I'm at work. Other than those times, my carry is always near me and nearly never gets put in the safe.

I work 17 days straight and then either get a weekend or a 4 day weekend. I don't get to shoot as often as I like. I don't have a crap ton of guns but I have enough. I like to fondle a gun a day to keep me sane.

It depends on what safe, I voted 3 times a week. No fondling, I am either taking them out to shoot, work on or to take photographs.

Speaking of which, here are a couple of gratuitous pictures taken yesterday

I'm not a fan of bolt action rifles at all -- but I must admit...

That looks impressive!

Very nice camera work!!

I just don't have the 'need' to fondle anymore. I keep my bedside gun out, and my carry out goes in and out nightly, but that's not really fondling. That's putting up and getting down a tool.

I guess I'm just jaded. I have guns that I've only handled to inspect on purchase, and put in the safe. Since then they've not seen the light of day. Now in my defense they've not been to the range because I haven't had time to load ammo for them, but once I get around to that...
