but they do possess one of the largest known reserves of oil in the world. So how would you handle Saudi Arabia differently than our current policy?

Lets see I would invade saudi arabia and take all of the oil.

Its what I wanted to do to Iraq too but apparently we are lacking the BALLS to do what needs to be done. So we will have to wait until a few more events that are worse than 911 happen, or until the Israelis are forced to do it for us.

Which will happen but its only a question of when.

The reason we dont do what I said now, because its all about money, and the big oil cos are making enough of it now, and above all:

US forces are working very hard to rebuild and secure the oil producing infrastructure so that Iraq can pump oil. The problem is that the pipelines are very long and are constantly being targeted by the Al Qaeda forces in country. They know as long as those pipes stay broken, Iraq will never get on it's feet again. We have control of Iraq's oil reserves, we just can't control the hardware it takes to get it out of the ground and onto the tankers.

This can be true in a short-sighted kind of way. It also applies to our current difficulty: any thug with a bomb can control resources.

Is the problem just the Saudi's?

Aside from oil, (and a considerable pile of gold from the sale of oil), the Saudis have to buy in virtually ALL of the necessary trappings of survival and civilization.

Let them eat oil.
