While reading the other thread, I found this video, and this gun safety expert :rolleyes: at 1:05 (pointing gun straight down a hall, WHILE looking the other way)

The gun has a zip-tie through the chamber. He was just demonstrating for the reporter how it's done. And the frame you captured is after he checked the chamber and turned his head.
This type of negative spin is what "progressives" are known for, we don't need it here.

1st rule of gun safety: never point a firearm at people {violated by this officer}

2nd rule of gun safety: be sure of your target and what's beyond {violated by this officer as he CONTINUES to point a LEVEL firearm down a hallway while simultaneously looking the other direction}

Sir, your attempt to apologize for this guy is nothing short of incredible. I am compelled to ask why?
The gun has a zip-tie through the chamber.
So what if it has a zip tie? Flintlock Tom, people downrange CANNOT SEE ZIP TIES (hence the rules of gun safety-which I thought we all agreed on-but I guess not)

the frame you captured is after he checked the chamber
So what? Flintlock Tom, people downrange CANNOT VERIFY that you've checked the chamber (hence the rules of gun safety)

I never disputed that he checked the chamber (see title of thread), and that's not even the point.

He was just demonstrating for the reporter how it's done.
Yea, like Dianne Feinstein did when she pointed a rifle at everyone in the room.

This type of negative spin
"Spin?" How is it "spin" to point out the multiple basic rules he violates? Again, why are you so defensive on behalf of this guy?

jamming your fingers inside the chamber while sweeping individuals with a firearm is not a proper method for checking a weapon to see if it is loaded. maybe we just do it different on the east coast.

I agree that you can't see where the gun is pointed but it is clearly not the same direction as the officers eyes. I was brought up with the idea the only safe direction is the ground 2 feet away.

You cannot see what the gun is pointed at. For all you know it is pointed at a 16" thick concrete wall. From what I can tell, the muzzle does not point down a hallway. Also, the gun clearly has a plastic safety tie through the action and he does perform a visual check.

A bit of a tempest in a teapot...

+1 to Emerson. Jeez people, just agree to disagree. Everyone knows he's the only person in the room professional enough to handle that weapon. ;)

This makes me very sad. I'd wonder if they would have taken a few bucks for some to disappear...
