Edit I meant to type Hornady but a Lyman is OK if that works but seems like the adjustment sticks out to far

Need some help on this. First is it possible to install on the LEE powder through flaring die?
I would like a Hornady
as I already have a LNL AP press. For some loading I like the turret press.

Been fighting with the LEE auto drum and LEE customer service. I will post another thread on that, (been a LEE user for many years and have a boatload of their stuff. Service use to be good but no more, I am done!) :cuss:but right now I want to see if this is possible

The powder measure and LINKAGE needs to clear the LEE priming system.

So any help on how do do this appreciated. Adapter or whatever. Anyone done this??

Please keep it to the topic and not LEE we can hash that out later.

Thanks

Using the powder through die would disable the case activation. Just install it directly.

The Hornady is case activated, so all you need is the powder die assembly, if you want to transfer it from the LNL-AP press. All you do is loosen the 1 thumb screw and remove the dispenser. The Powder die base can be bought as a kit. I have like 7 of them for different caliber I load. All preset all I do is install the base, all settings pre set. If I recall the powder die base assembly is around $20, but it's been years since I've bought one. On the presses you have you would have to screw the base in unless you have the bushing setup. For east changing.

I don't know much about LEE or Hornady stuff, but this sez it will work

Case Activated Powder Drop
Item #050073
Engineered with quick change-overs in mind, the case activated powder drop only dispenses a powder charge when a case is present.

Designed for the Lock-N-Load® AP™ but will work in any progressive press that uses 7/8"–14 threads.(Not compatible with Blackpowder Measure.)

.17 cal. Powder Sleeve (sold separately) Item #392703

on any progressive press with 7/8" x 14 threads....

So I would have to get the quick change powder die for every caliber (to replace the Lee powder expander)?

like this for every caliber?

On my AP LNL I use one of the stations with the Lee powder through (just to expand) then the next station is the Hornady powder measure,

The Lee turret has 4 stations so one station (as it is now with the LEE powder measure) expands and hold/drops the powder,

I was trying to find a way to attach a Hornady powder measure to my existing Lee die They are both case activated.
This is mostly pistol calibers so the LEE expands and drops the powder I was hoping there was s a threaded adapter to replace the top of this Lee die.

There are no threads in the top it is smooth just for a powder funnel. It is what keeps the case flare activator inside,

I would just buy another complete Hornady Powder measure(linkage and hopper and it looks like those powder through expanders indeed would work.

I hope someone here has actually done this so I can get a visual of the way it is set up??

I only load 2 calibers on my LNL AP so I just readjust the powder measure and do not mess with changing the powder measure.

I have a whole lot of calibers on the LEE turret all in separate turrets so would like to be able to just remove the powder measure and start loading. The main thing I like about the LCT is the ease of change calibers and primers

I could just buy a new LEE auto drum for $50 but LEE has ticked me off!
Heck, I could put back the LEE Pro Auto disc powder measure but that is not adjustable and you get whatever the holes give you. It served well for many years but it is hard to tweek it to exact powder weights (yes there is a MOD but not going there)
