I was reading a thread about favorite targets and it got me thinking about something we all need to do. Many of use shooters have spots we like to go shooting at that are not public ranges.public land, state trust land, Ect. We all need to pick up the trash we are leaving out there. I have seen to many great shooting spots out here in my home state of Arizona closed to target shooting due to the trash left there.
We shooters have a responsibility to pack it in and pack it out. Im not just talking about our reloadable brass, to many times I see TV's, cans, oil jugs, furiture and lord knows what else shot up and left in the field. We preach responsible gun handling, proper eye and ear protection and humane hunting practices, only to leave our shooting spots looking akin to a war zone.
Take a 5 gallon can with you the next time you head out to your favorite spot and clean up. Not just your mess, pick up the stuff others have left. You don't need to clean it all at once, just start doing it and in a couple of trips YOU WILL start to see a difference.
We are all aware our 2nd ammendment rights are in the cross hairs of the anti's. Doing stupid things like trashing our lands just gives them more leverage to legislate where we can and can't shoot. This is something we all can and should do.
