Gentlemen:
I have just joined and this is my first post-don't know if I am in the right place to do this or not? I have a Winchester model 12 shotgun given to me back in 1959- 20 gauge. Have not shot it in years. Broke it out, and wanted to give it a thorough cleaning. Have separated the barrell and receiver before but never removed the bolt or trigger group. Did so yesterday (saw video's on line) and had no trouble removing the three pieces in the receiver (shell catcher, ejector and bolt) and the trigger group. Cleaned everything up and am trying to put them back in the receiver. Cannot get the bolt back in-must be a certain way to do so? I can get it in but it is not down as far as it needs to go before putting in the catcher, ejector and trigger group? Thanks for any help. michaelj1966

If you haven`t already, check YouTube for a tutorial on the subject. Audio/visual.

It`s always good to know before hand the "how too" on projects. J s/n.

Thanks very much. I did find one and was able to get the bolt in correctly. Wish me luck on the remaining re-assembly of my shotgun.

Those are wonderful old shotguns. A bit outdated in some ways, but still gems. I own a couple in 12 gauge and have considered building a collection of the different gauges.

Yes they are beautiful shotguns. I did get it together and it appears to be fine now. Want to shoot it soon.
