I have a lot of surplus ammo I'd like to sell, don't use it anymore, but I can't find the regs for shipping ammo. Does it need special packaging, lables, insurance?

Thanks

Ammo has to ship by common carrier ground. Box need to be test weight 200lbs(almost all boxes are) and marked ORMD.

I'm lazy and do not spend a lot of time marking all of my orders ORMD.

If you ship UPS, you'll need to box up the ammo (they won't pack it for you) and take it to one of the central shipping depots. The UPS retail stores won't touch it. Also note that each box can weigh no more than 50 lbs.

No, it's

O ther
R egulated
M aterial
D

The D has no specific meaning. There used to be 5 divisions of the ORM hazard class (A through E). All but D were eliminated when the US went to the international shipping standards. A few hazard classes, such as ORM-D, were retained for domestic use only.
