Looking for idea's on how to shrink a slip on grip (like a Houge), bought a Limbsaver slip on grip for my Glock 26 but did not like how it felt. So I thought why not try it on my LCR w/CT grips, well it's a little loose so I'm asking if anybody has a home remedy to shrink it down to fit.

Thanks

How hot will a hair drier get? Maybe that will work, if you hold it close. Next I would try one of those Ronson Tech Torch's that uses butane fuel and use the hot air blower tip. LM

I don't think you'll be able to shrink it.

You might be able to bulk up the LCR grip, though. I don't know how loose it is, but you might be able to use some tape or a section of inner tube to fill it out.

Activating the laser might be a problem, though.

Like he said, BUT, if you don't want to get another,
you can buy a bicycle tube, and using rubber cement, build up the guns grip until it fits nicely.

In my experience, those slip-on rubber grips aren't tremendously useful. They all lose their tension and shift around after awhile.

If a gun doesn't fit you out of the box, or you can't work with it, you're better off to dump it and get something else.

Don't know if I would do it to a firearm, but in the past I used gasoline to install motorcycle grips. Pour a splash in the grip and it would slip right on the handlebar. Once evaporated, the only way to remove the grip was with a knife.

No idea how to shrink them, but after going through 2 of them in a period of 4 weeks, I decided not to use them anymore. Granted, I was drawing, shooting, and practicing with my pistol every day, but still...they should have more staying power.
