Between black coffee, and shiftn' gears
When the mom comes back from the store restroom and grandpa and the kids have filled the buggy and underneath with all sorts of ammunition.

"Idle hands are not good, loading ammunition is a great way to keep idle hands busy" - Grandpa.

-
While at the gun store the little lady writes a note and hands it to the gentleman at the counter.
"Buy your kid the Pink Crickett, I have one, and I recommend it a lot!"

-

Kids still do homemade B-Day Cards, just now they add Gift Certs to places with guns, ammunition and accessories.

-
The lady arrives at the range and is told her daughter and son-in-law have paid for range time to play with the machine guns.

"I knew that was a nice boy when she met him"

-
A dad still puts gas in his daughter's car, then again She did reload all the 45ACP, they will be shooting at the range they are taking her car to the range in.

You have to borrow .22 ammunition from your kid.
"Gee dad, mom, if you two had been paying attention when we packed up to go, you would have your own ammunition to shoot."

Others?

One I observed last year. An RO's son at a local range missed a couple of pistol matches because he was finishing up a 4-H calf so he could buy a new open gun.

Watching Bambi with my four year old nephew today. Bambi's father makes his appearance on the screen and he says, "Wow, he has some big antlers! Nice!" Must admit I was thinking the same thing.

When your 12-yr-old races to pick up the empty shotgun hulls because he knows he will be allowed to reload them unsupervised.

And next week every round he loaded chambers and fires just like from the factory.

You purchase a good belt to support the holster he has worn since 1981, and notice that the pants he wears still till this day has a circular print where his chewcan used to be though he hasn't done this since 1983...you know he wears them so you can wear new ones.

when you get home a little late from the range on a sunday and your 14 y/o son says were not watching the race until we clean these guns

after hitting a bulls-eye on a archery field target, my 7yo wanted to know if I wanted my pheasant with cherries or with wild race tonight.

The standard response from my 11 year old when I ask him to join me on a trip to the range is "Can we bring the Hi Power and the AR?"

He bought me a box of bullets with his own money because he wound up shooting all the 100 yd match ammo I had loaded during one range trip. $12.00 is a lot of money for an 11 year old.

my 3 yr old....

daddy, I wanna take Guage(our 2yr black lab) to hunting, he bring the ducks back a me....

I was soooo proud!

Well, for my sister's 12th birthday, she asks my dad if I can make her a gun for it (I had no problems, but wanted parental permission).... Her sister got angry since she was 15 and didn't have a gun her big brother built, so I made her one for her sweet 16.

Then my 8 year old nephew comes over to me one weekend, and asks if I can build him a gun too.... wants to learn how to defend the country (His dad was in the army, but is not a gun person, and his mom is a not so closet socialist)... His dad says yes on the grounds that I teach him.... he now has 2 guns and my nephew has 3 :)

I'm not done raisin' em yet!

My 7 y.o. son got angry with me when he found out that I helped a friend break in his new .50 Beowulf AR and he did not get to go. He'll bounce back, he's getting a .410 single shot later this month.....he just doesn't know it yet. His 10 y.o. sister has no interest..so far.

1. Like others, when you get home from the range and your son wants to clean the guns with you before he lets you crash in front of the TV....

2. When your son tells you that he just loves 1911s and decides to buy one of his own because "it feels so right in the hand, and it just looks like a proper pistol should..."

3. When your son helps you pick out and buy a little 642 Airweight for your wife for Valentine's day, and then reassures you that his mom is going to love it...
