Anyone else think we on THR could write a better K-12 curriculum than the entire rank and file of the teachers' unions?

Home schooling can be a positive thing but I've never seen it work. Every single example I'm aware of works like this. Parents and kids are socially backwards and cannot function in society. Kids come to school and cannot behave and follow rules, because their parents can't either. Kids get in trouble at school and parents pull them out somewhere around 4th-6th grade. Parents get tired of dealing with the brats and send them back to us and enroll them in 9th or 10th grade with a 3rd grade education. They drop out when they turn 16 and go on welfare rolls for the rest of their lives.

That's why the National Spelling Bee and most other academic competitions are routinely won by homeschoolers. :)

There is so much uninformed bigotry in your tirade I'm certain you're the product of Government School.

And a Democrat.

It is not the role of THR to discuss the differences between public, private and home schools. It is our responsibility as parents to educate our kids on matters that are important to us. While I can teach firearms safety there is no way I can teach my kids trig.
