How valuable are Pre-27's?

Mine is in the S 122 range, which is about 1954.

oldbear- As I stated in a previous post, the 4" barrel became a catalog option in 1979 on the 27-2. Prior to 1979 it was available on special order and I have only seen one (made in 1964).

Any pre-27 is a nice gun but there is a huge difference in value between a 5" and a 6".
