OK, I was inspired by a thread in Legal and Political; where it was mentioned that it would be impossible for China to invade mainland US. One of the last posts, before it was closed, made the assertion that "the invasion already happened", showing a picture of a container ship. I had already been thinking, but didn't want to post due to thread drift, that it seemed possible (though maybe not plausible) that a portion of the U.S. could be invaded by several carefully timed offloads from container ships of containers filled with troops. Of course, ventilation, sewage, food, etc. would be a problem on the journey, but if you were (insert foreign power of choice here), how would you launch a large scale invasion of a portion of the U.S., and, as an American citizen, what would the best defense be on a personal level? If this is all too "Red Dawn", I understand, but thought it might be a more appropriate home for the thread.
