I like the guy. I think he is funny and entertaining. But...he is no better than the rest of the "Hollywood" types.

This AM he was carrying on about the senate meeting yesterday re: the Janet Jackson/Superbowl debacle and was playing tape of some senator from New Mexico who is apparently very conservative. He goes on to dig up her voting record and guess what topic he brings up? Her gun control stance. Evidently she voted to reduce the 3 day waiting period to 1 day (why we even need one is beyond me). His take is that gun control should be a bigger concern than worrying about boobs and language in the media.

What a hypocrite. I would bet hard earned money that he didn't even wait a day to buy his precious Glock that he has obtained permission to carry around (elitist). Maybe no one has explained it to him. That the waiting period does not affect the ability of a criminal to buy a gun--just the rest of us.

Now, I have no problem seeing Janet's goods on TV. Was it the correct venue? Not really. But, is it really that big a deal? How many more of my tax dollars are they going to waste farting around with it. Now there is a whole new bill being introduced. Just what we need--another law to address something we already have a law for. Sound familiar???

On a similar note, this morning on another morning-drive type show here in S. Florida, the same thing was being discussed and a caller called in with the exact same logic--stating that we should be focusing on gun control not boobs on TV because we have kids getting killed in schools by guns. Meanwhile, there was a kid killed with a knife in a middle school bathroom last week by his best friend. I don't hear anyone screaming for knife control or waiting periods to buy a knife.

Why don't they just leave us alone? What does indecency in the media have to do with gun control? I just don't see the correlation.

He may be a libertarian, but I find it doubtful he'd conform to any dogma on his show, especially if it contained any logic.

Remember, Stern trys to drive his listeners into a frenzy, including his fans, in hopes they will talk about him to others (as we are now) and repeat his name and show over and over. Those "others" may seek him out to see what he's all about; curious about fish spanking and such.
Heck, he even admits a large number of his listeners are Stern-bashers and he embraces that. Be shocking, outrageous, perhaps morally inept... be anything it takes to keep the audience tuned in and the sponsers happy.

That's his claim to fame and it’s all he’s got.

Howard Stern and his minions are as worthless as it gets.

Entertainer??? just what redeeming social qualities does his show provide, except to degrade every person he interviews.

And he gets paid to spew his drivel....

If you want to have some useless fun and blow off some steam, write NYCs Mayor Bloomingidiot and question his latest stance on guns. "Nobody needs a gun" so how come Stern, Imus and the rest of them have them? CC a copy to Stern and maybe he`ll really get bent on the air.

Stern is an elitist. He has more money than he can spend, well maybe Mike Tyson could, but he has lost touch. The fact that he is likely anti gun comes from where he lives and came from. He may have a CCW but I bet he would never need to use it because his body guards would handle it for him. He may be very popular East of the Mississippi but out West, he is not very popular at all. His sort of course humor doesn't go over well out there. He bragged how he was going to put "Mark and Brian", a couple of LA radio guys, a few years back. He failed miserably and I don't think he can even be found on LA radio now. I don't really care what he thinks. I'd rather listen to NPR and I am far from a political liberal. At least I get both sides that way.

I used to work with a guy that HAD to listen to Stern everyday. Stern is an idiot....but he sure is good at what he does.

I used to listen to Howard, but somewhere along the line he seemed to go off on a tangent and cry about everyone stealing his material. He's not particularly creative.

Now, for a creative shock-jock, I vote for the Greaseman. He's creative. Don Imus is a distant second based on listening to him many years ago. Howard never had the creativity of either of these two.

I couldcare less what he thinks about guns. In fact, I'd rather have him on the side of the lefties.

I think he uses his radio/TV show as a venue for his sexual addiction.

Sixty year ago, Groucho Marx made a comment about guys like him. He said, "Sure, I like my cigar, but I take it out once in a while."

More disturbing is the fact that enough listeners, keeping him on the air, think this is routine behavior.
