I'm curious how people are doing on ammo?

Sorry I should have added a poll option "I have enough ammo to shoot, but I'm shooting less" mods if you amend this that would be great!

I guess the good thing about being really diversified is I can shoot a little bit of this a little bit of that and still have plenty and get range time in...

However I have zero, zip, nada 22LR. 38 Special is not too far behind.

Im okay on everything else, (22mag, 380acp, 9mm, 40sw, 10mm, 357mag, 45acp, 10mm, 44mag) although I did go a little hog wild with a new 1911 and had to slow my roll.

ETA: Left out rifle and shotgun ammo as I am mainly shooting pistols these days, so my stash remains untouched.

I've got some ammo but haven't been shooting it for now. I had a pretty impressive stockpile before all the panic started but I've shot most of it and been unable to replace it so I'm not shooting at all right now.

I'm good to go and have been able to replace what I shoot with the exception of 22LR. I have more ammo now than I have had in quite a few years.

I've got about 6000 rounds of 22 left and suspect that by the time I get low there will be ammo on the shelves at WW or Academy.

LOL. Less since I just sold 11,000 rounds of 22lr (Federal 714) through consignment at my local gun dealer. I bought this 714 before Big O's first election and a very low price and sold it at a very nice price.

How does that happen?

shoot a lot, then dont even see a hint of a box for sale. :)

While I might pay an elevated price for a gun that could conceivably be banned. I refuse to pay the ridiculous panic prices for ammo..

I can scrounge .40 S&W ball ammo so that's what I'm shooting. .45 ACP is hard to find so I stockpile it. 9mm is hard to find, it's been over a month since I was able to buy just two boxes of PPU 9mm. One of the LGS & range here has no 9mm, so it's affecting their range business and gun sales.

Short on a few calibers, but my main shooters are 45LC and 45acp. Lucky I load my own and cast my own. As long as I don't run out of primers, alls ok.

Plenty of components to load .45, .40 and 9mm for a while at least at the rate I shoot, but short on .22lr I am saving that or my son to shoot when he is here, every other weekend. He is 9 and loves to target shoot with me. We shoot every weekend I have him, I thought I had a decent supply after last time..... guess I was wrong. :banghead:

I've only purchased two boxes of 38 special in the last 8 months, and that was for my mom. I have had plenty of supply to reload and shoot all my regulars to date. I have sorta backed off shooting 22lr but not by much.
Worst case scenario, I may have to eventually lean on another hobby until things free up.

Your poll is seriously lacking.

Why only this: "I have plenty of ammo to keep shooting"?

You need a: I have plenty of ammo, and am not shooting, and still trying to acquire more.

Have ammo and will shoot.

As to NE Ohio weather crawls to improvement I will start shooting some of the rifle ammunition I have loaded. I tend to load during the winters and shoot during the summers. As to handgun and the indoor range I have plenty and when it gets a little low I'll just load more.

Overall I have plenty of factory ammunition in .308, 30-06 and .223 as well as my hand loads. I also have plenty of .45 ACP and .45 LC as well as 38 SPL and 357 Magnum with a good supply of .44 Magnum. When and if it gets low I'll just load more. Between target and standard I have plenty of .22 LR. I just gave my son a brick for a friend of his. Not even concerned about running out of anything for a few years.

Have plenty of the reloadable ammo (.223, .38, 380, 40, 45,etc.) but down to my last 500 rounds of .22LR. I too refuse to pay the outlandish price of .22LR. For example that little gun shop that I work at (part time) has been charging $75.00 for 500 rounds of CCI, the fella told me he has had to spend $68.00 just to get it in.

Have enough carry ammo for a lifetime. Slowed down on range time to conserve indoor plinking stash, although I did manage to take a weekend class last month and scrounged enough to avoid dipping into the strategic reserve.

A few rounds of this and that..............................................most of the other stuff along with the guns were lost in a tragic boating accident.

A wink to Pablo!!!!!

I think that's it give or take a case of cheap barley pop of something else floating around in the car hole.

PS....Nobody should get the ream job for the 22 ammo spoken above. I've seen people as for anywhere from 50 to 125 bucks for a brick.
I noticed at my local Big 5 Sporting goods that the price was being held to around the 30 dollar region which is steep comparing it to the old prices, but very fair considering the hording. The only problem was people were getting the delivery dates for the replenish and were camping out to sweep it all up! There are ways to get it is what I'm getting at, and at a decent price if youa re willing to be clever and determined.

I have a 5 shelf 2'x4' shelving unit full of ammo. For the last 25 years I would buy ammo when it was on sale, and if there was a good deal I'd buy an extra brick / box / case or two and store it away.

I don't know if this makes me a "hoarder" because when I bought it there was plenty available for anyone who wanted it. I do know that now that demand is greater than supply, I have all I need.

I have a fair amount of ammo. I'm not shooting much because I'm still waiting for decent weather. (Ice storm today.) If I didn't reload, I could still shoot but probably wouldnt because I would be worried about depleting my supply.

I have lots of powder and primers, and lead to cast my own pistol bullets. I could use more .223 projectiles and .22LR ammo. This .22LR shortage caught me off-guard.

Hows that come across Pablo?

:D:D:)

preciate the advice...................

When asked what you need high capacity magazines for, reply :"To level the field against tyranny"

On hand, but paid THAT price !

I have more thana few .22's on hand [ about 20K ] but at a gun show there were a few bricks of high end stuff,so I paid 65.00 per and got 4 of them.

That will be the amount I shoot up over the next few months, using the FIFO method.

FIFO [ first in ,first out ] that means I will be shooting stuff that I paid 6.50 per 500 rd's [ at most ].

I expect to shoot about 100 + rd's per week and that is .22 LR as its the cheapest and the caliber I have the most of.

I wont be shooting too many other calibers, and then VERY few rounds until I see the shelves filling again [ IF they do ].
