I am shooting my first full scale accross-the-course match tommorrow in several years. Used to shooting at 200 yds only, and never using my AR at 300 and 600 yds, I need to be refreshed on the sight adjustments for 1/2 minute sights. The load I am using is 25 gr. Varget with SMK 77 gr. bullet.

It will also be my first time shooting "canted" in sitting position. My sight adgustments for 200 yd sitting will be L8, U6 from mechanical zero. Someone helped me work on that one at the range a couple of months ago.

Since messing with the sights, I can't remember how many clicks up to start out at 200 yds. Can someone please help me out today? I am using the Marine Corp, center-of-mass hold.

Thanks...Larry

You need to find your own 200yd zero. Sounds like you'll be doing that tomorrow at the match.
From your 200yd come up 2 minutes to 300yd and 11 minutes from 300 to 600 yds. These come-ups are not exact, but will be on paper. I come up 9 minutes from 300 to 600 but I change bullets from 75gr Hornaday's to 80gr Sierra's at that range.
I cant my AR as well but won't begin to guess how much that will affect your windage. I find wind to have much more effect at 600 than any canting I do.
HTH and enjoy yourself. Tell the match director you've not shot at mid range and he'll surely match you with someone who will help you get your zeros.

Thanks.

I am sure to get plenty of help at the range. I found some info on setting battle zero, and was on the paper at 100 yds today. I feel pretty comfortable for the match.

Thanks for your replies...Larry
