Hello all I wanted to share with you a gift that was given to me yesterday, a brand new all black Phoenix Arms HP22a .22lr pistol. Had no idea at all that anyone would ever possibly get me a firearm for a gift but of all people my cousin got it for me. I recently helped her get her first firearm after she was broken in on last week. We went back and forth between several different ones and she settled on a smith bodyguard 380, took her out and showed her how to clean it, load it and shoot it as well as what ammo to use for SD (speer gold dots run good in it). Yesterday she shows up at my house with a little black and silver box and contained inside was the hp22a brand new.
Took it out in the hills today and tested it out with some cci blazer .22lr ammo, later found out it calls for standard velocity not high velocity so ill be changing ammo the next purchase but hey 3.99 a box and its only just a bit over the recommended speed (PA suggested 1150fps the blazer is 1215 according to the box)
We shot 100 rounds through it with not one single failure at all, granted I cleaned it and oiled it last night but still, very accurate for a 3" barrel and they make a 5" barrel for it. She also got it at a really good price, i looked on one about a month ago and it was 159.00 with the 3" barrel. She got it at a gun show yesterday for 109.00 +tax said it was my christmas gift im happy.
Mind you its not intended for ccw but with some slight mods to the safety it would work good for someone who was recoil sensitive. Def. a good one for the truck or boat though, loaded with some cci snake shot, make a dang good trail/hiking gun, I love it.
Anyone else out there got one or shot one also any comments let me know, heres some pics of it
