My first post, but I'm on here all the time reading. I'm a lefty, so my options are quite limited for a .375 H&H. Assuming that the pricing structure is similiar, looking for opinions on what route you guys think would be best. Going to bench shoot, at some point Elk and definitely Africa. Already have a Weatherby Mark V Accumark .300 WBY and am so impressed with it, has me leaning that direction. I also looked at Blasers, but the price point increases exponentially. I am not opposed to another custom rifle maker, but want to stay under $3500.

Any help would be appreciated. Sam

Go with H & S. It wouid be good for the economy here in western SoDak. Besides, the owner is a member of the country club that I work for.

If is down to Weatherby vs H-S I'd go with H-S.

I know you mentioned looking at Blaser and they are <deleted> expen$ive, but you can also change calibers quite easily.

Another option would be the Mauser M03, which can also be had left handed and is also a switch caliber rifle. You can get one with very nice wood, a french grayed looking receiver (some sort of nitride finish), and a quick detach scope mount for around $3500-$3600 for a right handed model. Not sure what the left hand conversion would run, although it appears that you can convert between right or left hand operation like the Blaser.

Have you considered a Ruger Express rifle in 375 H&H? I have one and it is one of the finest rifles I own and I believe they are available in left hand models. I also own a 300 WBy ordered from their custom shop and it too is a beautiful well made rifle. :)

I would not own a HS Precision product if they gave it to me, due to my belief that I should never reward those with appalling poor business judgment.

Winchester made a left handed Model 70 Express in 375H&H, and that would likely be a good choice. Ruger also currently makes a left-handed Hawkeye 77MkII in 375H&H.

When I was considering the 375 I was looking hard at the cz mauser style action 375 H&H vs the weatherby 375 weatherby mag. I favored a weatherby, just because...according to readings I've done - I've never owned or shot a 375 - you can shoot a 375 h&h from a 375 weatherby magnum. So it may give a little versatility for purchasing ammo.

In the end, with a little research...I got neither. I figure I could use my 45-70 for a T-rex critter gitter if one ever roamed my Southern neighborhood.

There are some experienced African hunters on this forum...maybe they'll reply with some better insight.
