In case it matters to anybody Wally World is now selling 100 round bulk packs of 230 grain .45 ACP FMJ USA ammo. I kept hearing rumors of .40 S&W bulk packs but .45 ACP threw me for a loop.

Anyway it is $19.97 per 100 rounds. That is pretty cheap for factory .45 ammo.

Hope this brings joy to some of your days.

:D

Gimme gimme! I'll check that out ASAP, I pay slightly more than that price for South African Surplus (PMP commercial boxed from Century Arms), and I'm just about out...

That actually ain't bad - Let's see... $2 for primers, $10.89 for brass (Remington on sale from Midway, assuming 1/10 of 1,000 rounds), and $9.69 for bullets (Win 230 FMJ, same source).

Figure a buck for 1/10 a pound of surplus AA5, assuming 7 grains/round (DO NOT USE THIS INFO TO FIGURE LOADS).

I think the cheapest bullets I saw were around $6/100 or so, but they were cast lead.

Great news. I have been waiting for this. I am a mass consumer of their 9mm 100 bulk packs already :)

Hmmmm.....
Last time I looked at Wally World the USA [AKA Winchester White Box] was around $13-$14 per 50, so $20/100 is even better.

I had a bunch of .45ACP reloaded, worked out to about $8.50/50, using my brass. The USA 100-packs are looking better all the time.

I pick up my brass for free off the ground at the range (2000 so far)
I use hogdon clays powder 4.3 grains $16.50 per pound

CCI large pistol primers $12 per thousand

Cast lead bullets $14 for 500

Old ammo boxes free out of range trash

Dillon RL 450 I found in pieces at a pawnshop for $60

Dillion refurbished the press (free)

powder 1.5 cents per round

Primer 1.2 cents per round

Bullet 2.8 cents per round

$2.75 per box of 50

I have had no problems with barrel leading and accuracy has been superb.

I may go to walmart and get 100 for carry ammo because I have been told by cops not to use my reloads for CCW.

Did the cops tell you not to use reloads from a performance standpoint or was it a legal thing?

They said the fact I used reloads would not be helpful if I ever went to court.

I guess a prosecutor could say I was crafting poison lead bullets
in the hopes of giving the bad guy genetic defects.

I understand that if you carry Cor-Bon, and involved in a shooting, they will have someone there to represent the ammo, if the case goes to trial. Always better to carry factory for defense, than your own loads.
