Dad and me. Arrowed this 130+ class up in Ft. Calhoun, NE after stalking it in the rain for an hour over terraced corn fields. Finally shot him through a tall row of sunflowers. The 170 class behind him was too far for a decent shot, so I'll get him next year.

"azcoyotehunter do you use any calling device? I wished I lived closer to az I would like to shoot a bobcat and some yotes.
"

I used hand calls mostly, I've used a couple different electronic calls as well.

azcoyotehunter, I noticed in your pics that you hunt coyote with an AR, I just have a few questions about ammo for you if you don't mind:
Are you shooting .223?
What round are you using?(If its a hand load, would you be kind enough to post load)

Thanks in advance.
I am in the process of building a AR, I would like to take up coyote hunting, just looking for some advice from an AR hunter.

I've used my AR-15 for coyotes very unsucessfully. I would a lot of them (we call them spinners) using remington core-lokt rounds. I hit one dog 4x, reloaded and another 3 to finish it off.

I switched to VMAX bullets and the damage is almost as bad as my .243, no more spinners... but not very pelt friendly. 55grn VMAX with 24grns of IMR-4895

You are obviously proficient, a good shot, and have a thriving predator population! Dang few photos, but 'yotes ARE a passion!

I'm hosting 3 day hunts for other people out of state, send me a PM and I can accomidate you for a hunt in Nov. or Dec.

A most magnanimous offer, AZ, but I doubt I can make it this year . . . too many other commitments, most of which involve either a gun or a fly rod (but Lordy, that IS tempting!).
