Mine only comes out when it`s sunny out! A Sav 99F in 250/3000. Pre-mil.
It`s a classic for a reason and I aim to keep it that way.

Have you tried the peep sights with the aperture removed?I wish I could take my mother's Model 64 in 32 Win Special out for one last deer, but my eyes are not good enough to make a sure shot with the peeps anymore.
You ought to try it. I shoot a local High Power match some with guys in their mid to late 60's. They use aperture sights VERY well. I'd try them if I were you and remember: you don't ahve to even be aware of the aperture. The aperture has been out of it for at least 50 years. I might be able to still shoot it, just assumed that I could not. Maybe I will experiment a little this spring. I shot my first mulie buck with it in 1965.
Nice 64 eastbank, mine has been oiled so much that the wood color is gone.
I occasionally hunt with my great-grandfather's old 1936 Winchester Model 21 in 16 gauge. Does anyone else out there on THR hunt with a shotgun or rifle that would be considered classic or vintage? Pictures are always appreciated. Thanks.
I always used the Win 21 for quail when I was younger. In college I used it for sporting clays... but like you I now rarely use it just because I'm afraid to do it any harm. I have an old Superposed that has an internal problem and the gunsmith cannot find parts to fix it. I don't want that to happen to my 16 gauge.andrew I have the exact same 16 guage and mine was my grandfathers. i used it for years and one day one of the locks broke. I couldnt get parts anywhere and paid a good price for a gunsmith to make them. After that i retired thie old gun and it will just be handed down to my grandkids some day. Nice old shotguns though..
