Hunting with round ball?

Just a comment on round ball accuracy - I have a Lyman Deerstalker with I believe the 1 in 48" twist rifling. The gun is very accurate with a .490 patched round ball over 75g Pyrodex. Our club has black powder shoots and at the last one I was able to put 5 shots into 5 playing cards off hand from approx 60 yards.

I do have a Lyman peep sight on the gun which really helps my accuracy.

One of these days I'm going to get me a left handed Great Plains rifle...
