I had a customer want to buy himself an AR-style 12 gauge shotgun for Christmas. The projected uses were: a) "blowing up pumpkins after Halloween"; and b) "general home / farm defense". He did not want to spend a lot of money and was not interested in an AK-style shotgun, but wanted one that looked and functioned similar to an AR. Another requirement was two magazines.
We checked and found that Armscor has a couple of reasonably priced models, but the local distributors were out of stock. After some searching we settled on ordering the USSG MKA1919A Match made by Husan in Turkey - Davidson's had a nice sale on them so with the reassurance of their Lifetime Guaranty the money was paid and the shotgun arrived.
For less than $600 with some 0-0 Buckshot included for him out the door, both the customer and I were pretty impressed with the MKA1919A. It was very well boxed, locks back on an empty magazine, came with an ambidextrous safety, carry handle (plastic) with sights, a fixed stock, two 5-round magazines (for either 2 3/4" or 3" shells), three internal chokes (Full / Modified / Cylinder), and two different gas rings for shooting either light or magnum / heavy loads. The shotgun felt very good in hand and when shouldered, the trigger was better than I expected, and the controls all worked nicely. I have no idea how it shoots, but he was smiling broadly when he walked out the door and I liked it so much I ordered a second one (and an extra magazine) for myself.
The plastic carry handle and sights were unimpressive but seemed functional and would be easy to replace. Otherwise it seemed like a nicely built shotgun. I read some where on the internet (so you know it must be true) that the Turkish Army uses this model. Anybody have a 12GA MKA1919A Match and do you like it?
