OK I got lucky and was able to go to the Conservation Department's range today. After a few sighters to get on paper at 7 yards, I moved the targets out to 25 yards, which is something I hardly ever do, but custom seems to demand it.
After firing the first six rounds over a rest I was disappointed. I did not see any point in continuing with the 125 grain home cast lead RNFP over 2.7 grains of Bullseye in .38 Special brass.
The second target gives me hope. This gun apparently likes 158 grain RNFP bullets better than the 125s. This was again over 2.7 grains of Bullseye in a .38 case. I'm posting a third target photo in the thread about the March/April Single Action Challenge. Yes I know it's May.
I'm guessing the trigger pull at 5 to 6 lbs., so I'm thinking a set of Wollf springs might squeeze the holes a bit closer for me. I felt like I was fighting the trigger all day long. But it is definitely not a lemon, so I will have fun working with this one.
As the guys in the TV ad used to say, "Thanks for your support!"
