Supposedly, 300 PRC is about to be adopted as the new squad marksman round for all the infantry line units which would replace the venerable 308. Not sure if they've decided on a platform.

Not correct!
It’s replacing the .300WinchesterMag as the sniper cartridge. For certain units.

The squad auto weapons under development are in 6.8x51. Two variants under consideration. 6.8x51 TrueVelocity polymer-cased and .277Sig Fury. What I’m hearing is that final development is going to be to retrofit the current SAW, the M240 to the 6.8TV. From a 29” SAW barrel it produces .270WbyMag like ballistics. (3,300fps w/140gr bullet)). The M240 is said to be able to retrofit by changing magazines/feed belt, bolt, and barrel. Also a possible PDW (personal defense weapon) to supplement (not completely replace) M4.

The 6 5 creedmoor Is more then enough for deer/antelope and thin skinned game out to 700 yrds and more then enough for
Elk out to 500, MY wife killed her 5x5,bull here in Montana@,410;yards this year with her 6.5 CM using a 143 grn eldx, turned his insides to liquid after entering behind his left shoulder and exiited his right scapula leaving a golf ball size hole
He took 11,steps and fell over dead ,she's used the same rifle and load to kill several deer and antelope at ranges from 125 yards out to 500.
the creed is probably the most hated cartridge there is, but the fact of the matter is with the right load in the gun and some patience with the shooter it will kill anything in north America

Make sure you get the jgs aws2 reamer and have
The chamber opened up.otherwise its going.to.
Malfunction with handloads after the 2nd or third firing in owned one brieflyin a browning x bolt for 8 hours I sold it the ,next day it kicKed worse then a mule on steroids
