Congratulations

I started at 23 for a bachelors, after 4 years in the Navy and it was tough. I'm about to start again at 42 for either a teaching certificate or a degree in library science. Speaking of college cuties I just moved into a nice apartment building during the last week of classes at LSSU and my neck was sore!

CONGRATS!!! I too am about to graduate, with a bachelors in physics, specializing in semiconductor processing technologies. i even managed to land a job making $17 an hour! WOOHOO!!!

Way to go TimboKhan.
I think people going back to school later in life is becoming more and more common anyways.
Follow your passion and nothing else. Don't make half-hearted attempts like I did.

Trust me, it is hard to be a single 35 year old guy walking around in a sea of extremely attractive 20 year old sorority girls.

Look at it this way, at least you know you don't need viagra yet.

35 isn't bad. I'm finishing my Associates in Aeronautics in July and I'm 41.

Getting a degree finished while working 12 hours on aircraft isn't an easy thing. I've finally gotten to the point in the food chain to get spare time for classes.

Congrats to you sir. Best of luck in your future.

Congrats! Graduation seems so far away for me, I'm just starting my major specific class now...

Way to go, Timbokahn! I'm 61 and starting on my GED! Went right into broadcasting while in high school and didn't look back.

I always felt bad about not graduating. Once this is done, I may take a run at college myself!

You're never too old or too young to advance your education..a heartfelt congratulations again! You should be very proud...!

Same here. Just graduated this morning with my official degree in Economics (although I don't get my diploma until I turn in my paper on economic analysis of gun ownership, gun-control, CWP, etc. - big deal..... I have to write 25 pages about guns... I do that nightly here practically right? ;) - but I am now officially TheEconomist - .... well not really as I don't have a phD.... but I figure if Einstein did his work without a phD, or any real degree for that matter.... I can be TheEconomist on THR)

I didn't even think about graduation presents. I wasn't expecting anything as I figured my family has funneled enough money into putting me through school, why essentially reward me with money for having used their money? I also didn't realize my extended family was going to be there.

So when all was over, I was quite surprised when combined I had been given enough money to get myself a second Glock 23 (I have a thing about having a backup of your defensive guns) - and my parents told me that they're buying me a new car.... and my father is buying me a new dual-band ham-radio rig (both an HT and a mobile unit for the new car).

Sheesh..... I can't help but feel a little undeserving of it all, but at the same time I'm not going to complain. :D

...as beaucoup said you're never too old. my pops went back to school in his late forties and finished his bachelors then decided he wanted to teach school. He left a job making big bucks to teach high school kids. He now has his doctorate and is a headmaster at a private christian school.

Congratulations!!

Congrats man. It is hard to go back. I did my graduate degree while working full time when I was 34. That was a rough 22 months.

So you're going to teach high school history? Excellent. We need a few more teachers who understand the 2nd Amendment.

Tim will without a doubt be one of the most influential teachers his students ever have. I'm proud to be his friend and glad to be a recent graduate myself. Mine is in Construction Management from Colorado State University. I nominate a rifle in .35 Whelen because the caliber is his age AND it's parent case is 100yrs old!

hahahahhhahaha

UNC doesn't exactly issue degrees that are worth being proud of.

Enjoy your future career in food service, be nice or I won't tip you.

Congrats man! Teaching is one of the most important and undervalued professions. I'm 21 and will be graduating with a BA in Political Science in a few days (pending passing grades and a transfer credit that hasn't posted yet.)

There was a lady here in Kansas who just graduated college at the age of 95!

I need to get a degree myself (I'm 26) but I really can't decide which degree. Maybe physical therapy. To be honest nearly every subject bores me to death except guns.

And...where did you graduate from? And what is your current job?

Timbokahn,
From a UND graduate, congratulations.

When I finished college 39 years ago, hey that's Jack Benny's age, there was no money for self gifts, nor did I receive others. When my son finally finished law school a few years ago I did buy a graduation gift for myself. A new Ford F 250 crew cab diesel loaded.
