I really did something stupid. Well, actually, two stupid things. Two years ago in an accident I lost part of my right thumb. I had reconstructive surgery but even after 6 months of recovery I found that heavy recoil pistols just hurt to shoot. In an act of depression, I sold my Ruger Redhawk (44mag- stainless -7 inch barrel - custom trigger work) to my Brother-in-law. To this day he just smiles when I mention it. Anyway, now that a couple of years have gone by, I'm not feeling as much pain when shooting and I REALLY miss having a 44 mag. So, I'm looking for recommendations regarding another 44 mag. My requirements are:
*No more than 4 inches ( and I really like short barreled pistols)
*Not more than about $750 cost
*Large frame
*All steel, not an alloy (need the heft to reduce felt recoil)
* MUST have a decent rigger
So, what are your recommendations? I'm thinking Smith but the money is more than my budget.
Blessings,
Paul
