Yesterday after taking a shower and eating breakfast I strapped on my holster brushed my teeth and was off to run some errands (had to go to the post office to send out some Pay It Forward items and do some other things). After running around to various locations for a few hours it was off to the post office and then back home.
When I arrived at the post office I went to put my revolver in the lock box and was horrified to find that my revolver wasn't on my hip. Panic set in as I tried to figure out whether I dropped it without knowing or I had left it somewhere. After thinking for a few seconds I realized that before I left I strapped on my holster but not my weapon.
Since I have had my permit not one time have I left the house without packing and it suddenly dawned on me what kind of predicament I would have been in if I really needed to draw and just got a handful of empty leather. It took several minutes for the sick feeling in my stomach to go away.
I felt like a total moron!
