I finally got my CCW from FL and started carrying a couple days ago. I got in the car and headed off to run a bunch of errands with the Bersa strapped into a WB holster. At first it felt strange as heck having this lethal weapon attached to my side. I also felt that holster was uncomfortable until I repositioned it a little more towards my back. I then couldn't even feel it after that.
So here I am packing and off to run some errands. I arrive at my first stop and had to take off the gun and lock it up. I was at the County Court House getting my tags renewed and you cannot carry into Government bldgs.. First dang stop and I cannot carry into the building. Hilarious.
Next stop was the gas station and then on to the bank. Again I had to lock the gun up because of the " No Firearms " sign on the bank door. No worries, I complied. Then off to the grocery store and a couple other stops.........Last stop of the day was the Post Office. Yup you guessed it, took the dang thing off again and locked it up. When I got back into the car I said screw it and stuffed it next to the seat.
I got home and just had to laugh. Here I am carrying for the first time and three times I had to unholster the gun and lock it in the car because of no firearms policies.
A couple days later I had to run some more errands and by then, the gun just seemed to be an after thought. It just felt like it was no biggie to have it strapped on and I sure didn't feel any different. I spent my morning running errands and after my last stop I flopped my big butt into the car seat and felt a pinch. My first thought was that I had a spider in my britches or got stung by a bee. I reached down and pulled my shirt up and there was my Bersa staring at me. Heck I forgot I had it on.
I guess my experiences for my first week of carrying has led me to the belief that if I need it and I can remember I have it on, and I haven't had to lock it up in the car, it could save my life. Otherwise, it all ended up being "No Big Deal" to carry.
