I feel so dirty; I bought a H&K USP .40 Variant 3 for $400.00. The gun is in excellent shape, shoots wonderfully, and it came with factory hard case, factory installed night sights, three 13rd magazine total, and a Insight made H&K marked UTL MkII light. The gun was made back in 2002 and the night sights are still nice a bright. Figure I have another five years left in them before they need replacing.

Thing is I'm a GLOCK guy through and through.... never been a fan of H&K and I was not a fan of the fanatical fanboyism that follows H&K. Their prices are always high and the customer service is always low. I know GLOCK fans are a bit crazy but H&K fans make GLOCK Fans (myself included) look moderate.

Do I need to do thirty Hail Marys and flog myself with a GLOCK 33rd magazine?

Congrats, I'm a Glock fan myself but have always had a sweet spot for the USP. Not a bad price at all for it, less than I paid for the G23! Perhaps someday I'll stumble across a USP .45 for that price

Have you actually used HK customer service?

I have, and they were as responsive as any other manufacturer I've dealt with, including Springfield armory, who is known as having excellent customer service.

Couldn't have passed that up for the price you paid. I don't care for the full sized mod. but that is a good price considering the extras.

Chances of needing customer service are pretty slim with H&K. Great pistols. I've owned a few over the years, mostly in .45 auto. It's the only brand of pistol that I've never had one stoppage with.

I'm a big fan of Sig's, Glocks, and H&K's. Quality is quality, and a bargain is a bargain. And don't worry too much about customer service. My H&K's have never needed it.

Whats funny is that the vast majority of people who claim HK has bad customer service have never dealt with it but only repeating what others have said. People on the HK forum, ya know, ones who own HKs and the few that have needed customer service, generally have very favorable experiences.

In regards to which gun has more fanatical fans, i love HK but never felt some odd sense of disloyalty for buying any other gun. Unless one works for a gun maker, i find product loyalty to be just plain silly. But if its really that painful feel free to relieve yourself of the guilt by sending me the USP.
