Where the Army puts me
So I've got about 2,500 rounds through my CMMG MK-3 Mid-Length CHF 16" 1:7 twist barrel. And I have to say I really really enjoy this rifle. It's covered in Magpul MOE, surefire pistol light, Vtac sling, Spikes T2 buffer, MOE+ grip, Aimpoint knock off red dot and a 3x9 Redfield scope. I've shot it out to 300yds and with a 55gr FMJBT I get 1.5MOA @ 100yds and beyond. I ran El Prez and half and half drills today and haven't had a single FTF, FTE. I zeroed the red dot and the scope on the same day remounted both today and they held their zeros. The mid-length gas system teamed with the heavy buffer makes it so easy to keep on target. The trigger is smooth, polished and crisp. The only things left to do are BCM BCG, Troy Alpha 13" Rail or Vtac and low profile gas block. Maybe a 5" suppressor. Pictures are the gun with both sights and my 100yds zero with the red dot.

Good looking gun. Im looking to supplement my collection with an AR in the not-too-distant future and have looked at CMMG, Del-ton, etc. Glad you enjoy yours - Im always happy to read about them (but will be happier when I get one to shoot ).

From the thumbnails I thought you had the scope mounted on top of the red dot. I was all like

Glad you enjoy it. I'm thinking about getting a 13'' Alpha rail myself.

Infidell...

Good loking rifle.

Could you answer a couple of questions for me?

I am new to the AR platform. I have on order the BCM heavy, "auto", BCG. I currently own the M4 "style" 16 in H barell. My rifle currently has installed, the
standard carbine buffer.

With this much heavier BCG, will I need an H or H2 buffer? Or will my standard carbine buffer suffice?

Best...

Gunner

Gunner I think I commented on your thread already but I may be mistaken. You can run a standard carbine buffer with no issues. However I would recommend that you step up to atleash a Heavy buffer, this will help with felt recoil and make the weapon easier to control.

The only thing I don't like about it is the bolt. I don't care for the coating and the coil gas ring. However it was always going to be replaced with a BCM. The trigger is what has amazed me the most. When I took it part I was surprise at how well the trigger was polished. It breaks clean and light with 0 creep or grit.
