Got it all mounted up. Between the already low cheek weld and the high base i decided to build a adjustable cheek rest. hopefully i get some time tomorrow to shoot it :bthumb:

Some may think so. I have fun plinking out to 500 yards with my .22lr, this mount should make it even more fun. Think about holding croshairs on target at 500 yards!

Give Chris a call, tell him Curtis Sent ya. lol

The big one is 14 inches the small one is 8.5 inches. when i get out to the range i will paint the targets white, i left the paint out there.

I was thinking that looked goofy, but after you described what it did i see the point. If i ever get around to building a suppressed rifle (and moving to another state :s ) ill have to get one of those.

Went shooting today, the new target is fun, Hit the small one a few times, the bigger one is not as hard to hit as i thought it would be. it was fun. I have the VGM set up to hold right on at 500 yards. works great!

also shot some groups with cci sv. all are 5 shot groups using front bipod and rear bag. laying in the dirt lol.

I know that mount seems weird, but check out his videos shooting 100 - 200 -300 - 400 and 500 yards down that canyon. Fun !!!

At those ranges down that canyon, scope height above bore centerline is meaningless. But if it ain't your cup-o-tea just pass on by.

ants, this mount is going to be sweet for that. in those videos i was using just the old tasco scope. lol now i can go from my 50 yard zero to 500 yards with out cranking the scope dial. takes about 1 second to change lol. once i get it all figured out I will make another video

Update,

Got the DIP extended base. so the VGM would not move, the J&Ps did not workout. not there problem... mine....

here are some pic of the DIP Base. It seems very well built!

I had a set of literature on that mount from probably 20 years ago, I did not know they were still being made.

It would work well on a flattop AR where you normally need risers on a scope anyhow.

Clayne, couple of guys are putting the VGM's on their specialty pistols and compete in LR matches with them...and do very well against the rifle guys, so...keep on truckin' man!!

U know what u need to do is to get a ground squirrel with that rig of yours at 500+ yds. Now that would be reaaalllyy cool Man!!

I need to go find a P dog town and see what i can do! sounds like fun to me.
