I got sick with guns

I'm sorry for your situation, but police have tough enough jobs. YOU could have been a top-ten most wanted. That they didn't shoot you is a bonus you should cherish. cliffy

That's the excuse they always use. "We have to treat you like a criminal because our job isn't easy!!!"

"That they didn't shoot you is a bonus you should cherish. cliffy"

This is total 100% BS. Not bashing, but they should perhaps begin seeking out actual criminals instead of seeking probable cause and creating criminals.

I am not defending the officer's actions, in fact based on my training and experience he grossly over reacted. But if ya'll think the job is so easy then by all means apply to the local PD or SO, go through the academy and become LEO's. Then at least you would know what you are talking about.

As a former LEO I have to say that he over reacted. I never cuffed anyone for their own safety... that is a bad reason in my book. People get cuffed because they are going to jail. And to say that you are lucky that he didn't shoot you has to be one of the silliest things I have heard. But again all cops want to do is pillage and kill and take away all your rights...

Contact VCDL and ask them for advice. They'll probably tell you to file a written complaint explaining that you were suffering from intestinal flu/food poisoning and present the problem as you have here.

What jurisdiction was this? I'd say a complaint is in order, do you have the officer's card or badge number? Obviously the officer did not even know the law because you had it in the rearmost covered part of your vehicle (peaceable journey act, iirc) unloaded and securely wrapped.

Hope you feel better, I was out of commission last week, no puking though.

Be sure to send your FULL name and address, make/model of your car etc with that complaint. I'm positive those "cowboy" LEOs won't harass you for months to come.....

Serve and Protect !

I never understood the whole "I'm cuffing you for your own safety" BS....... Makes one try to figure out "WHY?":uhoh:

Sorry to hear about your less than ideal LEO encounter. You should have just puked in the floorboard and cleaned it up later. It would have been less humiliating.

Hope your feelin' better !;)

What a horrible experience.

Putting myself in the officers shoes... I would have freaked out! Who is this guy puking? Where is his ID? Is he crazy? Is he dying? He has a gun?

I can see where he is coming from. I can see how awful you must have felt. I hope you get better soon!

That they didn't shoot you is a bonus you should cherish.

A law abiding citizen should not have to fear that the police will shoot him during a traffic stop.

That said, this was a little unusual of an introduction to this police officer. I'm sure they would have treated him much better had the OP been well enough to hand the officer the licence and explain that he had a CHL.

Until he has you ID'd he does not know you are a good guy. Handcuffs were a little over the top but maybe he wanted to control which way the barf fountain was pointing ;)

would be making some calls right now if I were you.

Why now this happened a year and 2 months ago............did any one see the date of the op?

I was too sick for about a week to think about complaining and around here it wouldnt go far, I have tried once before and it got the old well we will talk to him reply.........
