I guess there is no hope for me

I've learned to fight the voice/imp. But if it persists, I buy it just to shut him up. Sometimes I tell
the voice "Hey! You still haven't used the LAST one you made me buy!"

Been there. Many times. Knowing I'm going to cave, the best I could do is a self imposed rule that if I buy something I sell something to fund the new purchase or if I have enough in credit card points to pay for the new gun I use that.

I have no will power. Besides a rule like that's not any fun at all. :D OK, I did try to trade in something that I had played with enough but he had two of them in the show case and declined my offer. I don't blame him.

This little episode cost me in the long run. My wife came in yesterday and showed me a new mixer she wanted for her kitchen. Needless to say, it's on the way and it cost more than my "new" gator. No problem though. Neither of us puts up a fuss with the other about buying something if we can afford it without a crimp in the combined budget. There is no "my" and "your" money around this house and never has been. Just "our" money.

I have ended up on the Ramen Noodle and PBJ sandwich diet for extended periods several times over the years due to "an unbelievable firearm deal". Believe me it was worth every penny I spent each time when years later I partook of the wild game harvested with each of them.:) The reasoning these days is "I was going to go on a diet anyway" might as well reward myself.:p
It's easy to go broke saving money.
