Hey guys, I was just wondering how the trigger pull is in DA and DAO

I was looking into the sig 225 recently and was wondering mostly about the trigger.
I couldn't get the search working though.

How bad is a 12lb trigger pull in DA and is it bothersome in DAO?

What is the trigger pull in the SA and how is it?

Last question, is there any way to install a DAK trigger in it?

Thanks guys, sorry if these are stupid questions.

The double action pull on a P225/P6 is VERY heavy but breaks nicely. When using it for target work it is hard to get used to and will give you a workout.

That being said I have done some shooting courses with my P225 and never even noticed the trigger pull or magazine capacity when it counted.

So with that said, my take is not a great precision range gun but a darn fine defensive weapon.

My initial reaction was that it was heavier than a 229 or 226 trigger, but not unmanageable. It is heavy but smooth, a fine alternative to a safety, and it is met with a nice, smooth, SA trigger break at closer to 4 lbs. Target shooting, I typically fired it SA only, but in draw/fire exercises, I used the heavier DA pull... and found it very reasonable.

A Wolff spring kit can be used to lighten the DA to be more inline with standard 226/229/220 pistols. The P6s seem to come with heavier than normal springs.

Thanks a lot guys, I really appreciate it. All in all I hear only good things about the pistol and the price is right. I think I am going to have to pick one up soon.

Edit, one more question

Can the sights be replaced with meprolights or does it need to be smithed to get them on?

Thanks again guys.

One more thing to take into consideration. Magazines have become VERY hard to come buy since the cheap P6s hit the market and everybody had to have one.

I have heard that Promag has started to produce a P225/P6 mag. I have had mediocre performance at best with Promags, but for the range it should be fine.

I put a 17# spring in my P6, and it took the DA way down. I'd guess around 8#. And there are some guys on the Sig forum who have their sight pushers in circulation, just email them, and they'll have it forwarded to you when your turn comes up. I just used one to put a Hi-Viz front sight on, took about 5 minutes. Made me think my 'smith has been ripping me off.
