Hey Gang, I have several GLOCKS:

G17(9mm)
G21(.45)
G23(.40)
G27(.40)
G30(.45)
G36(.45)

...along with a host of other pistols and revolvers, but no 10mm. I'm seriously thinking of trading the slimline G36 for the compact 10mm GLOCK 29.

The G36 is a great gun, it's just not 'my' gun. It has night sights and is in great condition. What kinda trade might I expect to get on a new or used G29? Where might I go to get a decent deal? What might I expect to pay in addition? I'd love to hear from some of you who have more experience trading.

THANK YOU for your input.

Vitamin G, that is actually the first time that has occurred to me. Is that reallly feasible? Would I then use that different G29 mag with a slightly flatter base? Are they then reliable?

thanks for the suggestion.

I think you could convert the G21 to 10mm since the G20\21 both share the same dimensions, etc. I love the 10mm and wish I wouldn't have sold my G20. While I'm much more of a SIG fan these days, I will most likely have to pickup a G29 since I feel the need to have at least one Glock...again! Not sure on sale\trade value, but around here a NIB G29 is $519.99 plus tax.

You can convert a 21 to a 20, but you will need to swap both the slide & barrel to make the conversion.

I know some of the guys on 10mmTalk have just purchased the conversion barrels and magazines for their 21s and not had issues. I don't believe anyone makes a conversion barrel for a 30 but I could be wrong. If a 29 is what you want I'd recommend getting one new or used and not try a conversion on the littler gun. Compacts tend to be pickier than their full size breathren. As for what you can get for your guns, I haven't the foggiest.

All you need for the g30 is a g29 slide, barrel and mag.

My buddy has a g30 and I have a g29, tried it and it worked fine, you may want to change out the ejector, the g29 one is longer, I think.

Funny, I am also looking to trade, but for a G26.
I can't ever find anyone with a 26 that wants to let it go though. :banghead:

Of course, if you try to trade with an FFL, you're going to get screwed on that G36. I doubt you'll get offered any more than $350 credit on a G29 or 20. Now if you sell on consignment or through a private sale, I would think you could get $450 or so (largely b/c of the nightsights, so if they're excessively old, that may affect the price). You could even get very lucky and stumble across someone who has a G29 and wants the 36, but I doubt it. BTW, I love shooting my G20. I'm thinking I need a G29 sometime soon. Glocks are an addiction.
