Hey guys
I went to the gun store today all jacked up to get a 1911 or a sig sauer(one with the alloy frame)...and what did I walk out with....a beretta px4 storm. Yes, another polymer gun. I've been saying for the longest time that I was going to get off the polymer band wagon. No matter how hard I try I cant, I just love the guns: glocks, xds m&p's, hk's etc. Has anyone else got hooked on the polymer guns and cant go back, or am I the only one?

Can't say that I'm with you there. If you get stuck on either the "debate" between metal and polymer frames you're going to end up limited. I enjoy shooting both types. The next two guns on my wishlist are a Ruger SR1911 and a Ruger SR9 :D. And an older stainless Ruger Service Six is probably #3. You got you're bandwagons you're trying to get off of, I've got mine (though the last gun I bought was a Walther, so there's still hope).

I don't even think of a gun as polymer or steel; I bought the one that was comfortable, shot well, is extremely reliable, etc.

The whole polymer versus steel "thing" never entered my mind!

Seems to me that the main issue, instead of polymer vs. steel, should be weight compared to durability and comfort, and picking a gun with the attributes that will work for the purpose you intend.

Having said that, I also tend to like polymer more because I don't hate technology. Why should I think steel is the only material worth making a gun out of? If in the future they develop an even stronger and lighter material, then I'll jump on that bandwagon as well.

Well being an older guy and buying guns over the last 40 years naturally I like steel. But I have to say I like the Glock and Taurus polymers I do have. I know Taurus has its detractors but it and the Glock will shoot all day along with my 1911 and Hi Power. Hard to dislike a reliable gun, especially when it's lightweight to boot.

M either.

I've owned Glocks and a MP Compact, but after almost 8 years of carrying an alloy RAMI, really LOVE my new RAMI P.

I was recently able to get off the band wagon. My shooting buddy is a 1911 man and Im a glock man. So when we go shoot we spend more time BS-ing about which is better than shooting. We went gun shopping a few weeks ago and I wanted a glock 36 (didnt have a 45 in my collection) but somehow I walked out with a para 1911. It is my first 1911 and I will never tell him that I like it.

Being on the wrong side of 65 I cast a very critical eye on polymer handguns for several years. I am slowly beginning to try them. I bought my first a few months ago, a Glock g23 and although it's butt ugly it feels and shoots great. It took me a few hundred rounds to trust it enough to carry. I still give my carry 45 a long look before I take the Glock with me.
