I recently bought an HK USP 45. It was going to be my last polymer purchase. I have had several Glocks through the years and appreciated their tool-like capability. The only Glock I have left is my very early G17.

Any-hoo, I have tried a polymer FNP, Taurus, Glock, XD, M&P, and this HK. I covet accuracy, so if a particular gun can't shoot accurately for "me", I tend to trade them off. I have never been able to get great groups from a bench @ 25 yards from any polymer pistol. Until now. I did a little trigger work on this HK, otherwise it is stock. And it's a shooter. I think I'm finally feeling some polymer love.

Lastly, I'm no HK fanboy, but I am nothing but impressed with the build quality of my HK, and so far it has fed everything flawlessly, including my LSWC handloads.

But, but, but... that's impossible! HK's are overpriced and they hate civilians!!!

Enjoy your HK45. I own several HKs both pistols and long guns. They are worth every penny of what they cost. JMHO I have buddies that bad mouth the price of my HKs, but then turn right around and drop way more money on a 1911 knock off.

I've read the HK this, HK that stuff for years. Being overpriced is a pretty common topic. I have examined my HK carefully and done a quasi-comparison to the other polymer pistols I have owned, and yes, you really do get what you pay for.

I have to agree, the HK is worth it. And I'm a cheap b_stard

Just wish I would have bought the HK first instead of last.

I am not a HK fan, but they are extremely well made. Which trigger does that one have? I had an HK .357 Sig for a while, but couldn't fall in love with it or the caliber.

Totally agree with you concerning the .357 Sig, not a fan either, at least with the USP compact I tried it with.

Otherwise, I think it goes back to the HK motto: In a world of compromise, some men don't.

There are many things in life I compromise on, or in other words, don't purchase the absolute BEST. I have no qualms driving a Honda or my Ford nowadays, knowing full well I'd prefer to drive a Bimmer.

But when it comes to a handgun that sits next to my bedside and protects my home and family ..... why would anyone possibly compromise?

schmeky,

I also suffer the same affliction (a fondness for being "cheap") as you and bought an HK USP45 about four years ago.

I hated it so much and found it so unappealing that I ended up with a total of 3 HK USP45s and 3 HK USP9s.

Addictive things, those HKs. :)

The HK USP is the only tupperware gun I own. Accurate and reliable.

I hear alot about HK's lousy customer service. I can't say one way or the other, as in the twelve years I've owned the USP I've never needed HK's customer service. :)

schmeky ! Did you measure the one hole group where the pistol hit ? You have to say the other holes are probably just flukes, like we all get and could be ammo, trigger control, etc. but the main group of shots is great!

kmgrman,

10 rounds went into 1.25", obviously there were 2 flyers. I was not expecting this kind of performance. I was shooting with a good friend and he thought I could really shoot . . . . ha . . . . just one of those lucky days

I have tasted the KOOLAIDE, and I must say, it's rather tasty :p

benderx4,

Nice collection - most impressive.

I have owned my USP since 00 without one single hiccup!
