My daughters god father just gave me a call and gave me some intresting news. He is the person that really taught me to shoot. He said that since he does not really shoot any more, he is going to give me a bunch of guns. He is giving me the ones I always loved the most as a young kid when he would take me shooting with him and one he does not like. I am recieving:

-Taurus pt-100 .40S&W Stainless with wood grips. He also has one in 9mm which he is keeping. These are the guns I learned to shoot with. I have always had a soft spot in my heart for these.

-S&W 686 I love the way this gun shoots. When I was taking a class on frearms with intent to become a LEO (which never happend) I used this gun for the revolver part of the class. He used this gun when he was a LEO and had the action tuned by a gun smith is the early 80's. When I was shooting everyday I was able to shoot quarter sized groups with this gun. My absolute favorite.

-Taurus Millenium .40S&W. He bought this gun and never liked it. I have very little experience with it I have shot it once, and am looking forward to trying it out.

-Also he is giving my daughter his stainless Marlin model 60.

These guns are really going to become a prized posessions, They may not be valued at alot but they mean more to me then any of the guns I have bought for my self. I will post picks when I pick them up. I just wanted to share my joy at these gifts. Thanks for reading.

Topic hi-jack:

Every day, I seem to find more things that tell me I am really getting old. Such as:
-Taurus pt-100 .40S&W Stainless with would grips. He also has one in 9mm which he is keeping. These are the guns I learned to shoot with. I have always had a soft spot in my heart for these.

When I learned to shoot, no one had ever even heard of Taurus guns. I don't think the company even existed.

Hi-jack over.

What a thoughtful idea..

Consider yourself very lucky to know such a kind and giving person..

Special guns - no doubt about that. You will whenever handling or shooting them - think of him ... both now and one day when he is gone. That is one heck of a great legacy to pass on, in perpetuity.

I have no doubt you feel honored. I know I would. Treasure them.
