I don’t routinely buy Saturday Night Specials but since any gun is better than no gun when you need one, this little Double Action RG-14 Snubbie in 22LR followed me home many years ago. The front sight on the 1 3/4” barrel was so low I couldn’t hit paper even at short range. I mixed up some J-B Weld, let it harden a little before dabbing it on and then let the pistol hang Upside Down overnight. The weld formed a near perfect shape from simple gravity. So far it has held up after test firing. While at it, I pulled the steel Cylinder and Rod then lightly sprayed the shopworn pot metal parts with the product shown. I know it will wear off but it’s dressed up for now. Plus it shoots point of aim for the first time ever! 55EE5A7C-6110-4ACE-8B6A-87A879793618.jpeg AA3D8921-153D-4B94-8AF1-1FA09269AFC9.jpeg 8E64E8F2-2AAB-4760-98C6-3F43003775AF.jpeg

Did users even aim when shooting the things? And it is probable the short front sight feature was there to facilitate dropping the pistol through a storm sewer grate.

The designers knew their customers!

Sometimes all you need is a small package that gives off a big BOOM and spits out lots of smoke, sparks and flame (and a lead projectile). A high velocity 22LR does that every time in this severe snub nose RG-14 . It's actually a fun little revolver so I'm guessing you were never one of "their customers". Me neither! I got this one in trade as a Freebie. Watch later for my Post on a RG-10, an even lesser revolver with quite a story.

If you can find them, stick some 60g SSS Anguilla in it. Looks like it will do in a pinch, maybe you can pick up something better in the future.

Got a Romanian TTC (7.62x25 Tokarev clone) that shot wayyy high at 100 yards, even with taller replacement rear sight. Talked with my HVAC contractor, and he built up a blob of silver solder on the front sight. I filed it into a reasonable approximation :D of a front sight blade, and it works!

Used a bb super glued to a shotgun before, and a screw for a bead on a double barrel.
Worked great.
If I were you,I'd take a lighter to one side of that homemade blade, and smoke it up till it gets covered in soot.
Then take a piece of scotch tape and press it firmly to it,and gently peel it away.
You'll have a perfect imprint if the sight.
Find suitable metal for making that sight...press the tape to cut and slowly cut it out with a Dremel.
Then spot weld it to the barrel and your good to go.
Great job with the JB Weld.
They say necessity is the mother of invention.
