Gun lovin AZ
I have had it for about 3 months and finally got out to shoot it this weekend. We set up a gong at 75 yards and put about 50 rounds through it. I have to admit that it was some of the most fun I have ever had shooting. There is nothing like pulling the trigger and then having the satisfaction of hearing the gong. This is the first 44 I have owned and it is a keeper. Just felt like sharing.

I was lucky enough to pick up a 4" .41 Mag recently. I understand the feeling, although I can't handle 50 full power .41 or .44 Mags anymore. It's a cylinder or two for me. :)

I have been looking for a 4" mountain gun for a while and hope to get one soon. How stout is the recoil on it? Them .44s sure is fun tuh shoot!

You definitely notice the recoil, but it is not too bad. I am taking it up north camping this weekend and had to function test it, otherwise I would have stopped at around 25 rounds. Those mountain guns are sweet, but will probably recoil a little more due to having a few ounces shaved off the front end. If you get one try the grips that come on the 500 S&W. I read some reviews here and people highly recommend them. I am going to put some on mine. I almost traded this gun away before I even shot it and I am glad I didn't. It will be a trusted companion in the woods for decades to come.

The 41 mag intrigues me, I think it would be the perfect woods carry caliber in AZ(no grizzlys here). I am just getting into revolvers so I went with 357 and 44. There is a beautiful nickel one for sale here and it is oh so tempting, but the wifes patience is already wearing thin.

I don't have a 44, but I do shoot my fathers M29-4 83/8" quite a bit, and they are a blast (pun intended) to shoot. I have just a little M586 6" 357, a it is a real noticeable difference when shooting steel at 50 yards with it and the 44mag. Thinking I'm going to have to keep my eyes out for a M29, thinking a 4 or 5". Although the 41mag is one I've wanted to try out also, just don't know anyone that has one. But I do really enjoy the 357mag.
