I had a P95 and had it for a while after I got my CCW, but traded it for a Taurus 85SSUL for easier carry after I bought a P85 off a friend at work that was pristine. I could have traded the P85 I guess, but I kinda liked it better for IDPA at the time.
About the time I traded the P95 off, I bought a Kel Tec P11. The M85UL and the P11 have been my carries ever since. They pocket carry well, the P95, no way. It wasn't even THAT good IWB, though it was a bit lighter than my P85 and P90. It fit the same Milt Sparks Summer Special. I kinda like my P90 if I'm going to carry a gun that big, not for the .45ACP, but more for the much better trigger and I shoot the gun a lot better. It is a more accurate gun than either of the 9s were.
Anyway, so, I really don't miss that P95, one of the few guns I have no regrets about trading away. The P3AT would make a little flatter carry, but I really doubt I'd ever want to carry one in lieu of my P11. I have no problems carrying the P11 in a pocket and it's got a lot more power than a .380 and a lot more firepower than a single stack gun. It is also easier to shoot and more accurate than the P3AT from what I can gather, because I haven't actually shot a P3AT. But, I can group 3.5" off the bench at 25 yards with the P11 and it shoots straight to POA with my carry load, a 115 grain Hornady XTP at 1263 fps. Something reassuring about having 11 rounds of +P that are that accurate in a pocket with a spare mag on the belt. It's almost as if I'm carrying a duty weapon in my pocket. I have shot fast Sharpshooter times in IDPA with the Kel Tec just for experiment, great groups, a little slower than the P95 on sight acquisition due to the shorter sight radius. I normally shot a slow expert level with the P95 to give you an idea of how it stacked up in raw performance. Actually, I was impressed, wasn't THAT much slower in use and no less accurate. I just cannot see putting up with the size of the P95 when the little P11 is nearly as good and carries SO much easier, especially since at the time, that P95 came with 2 10 round magazines, no more firepower than my P11. Partial reason I bought the P85 from that guy is the two 15 rounders it came with. But, I never carry it, either. .
Anyway, I picked the P11. Hate to burst any bubbles about the bigger gun being so much better, but in my extensive exprience with both guns, the P95 just isn't enough quicker and no more accurate to have to put up with carrying its size. The P11 is a little gem and I'm very good with it. hell, I've put 11K +rounds through it, plenty of practice with it in the last 14 years.
