Greeting's All-

We received another pristine 2nd series (1947-1972) blued Colt Detective
Special last week, and on Saturday (01-27-07) I made a trade for it. It
most likely would grade out at being 'bout a 97% weapon, as per the NRA
standards. I couldn't afford to buy it outright right now, so I traded my
recently acquired, very minty factory nickel Colt Lawman MK-III .357
magnum straight up with my boss. As you know, I already had two of
these 2nd series Colt Detective Specials; and you know how much I
love 'em. The Lawman MK-III never really fit in, always being an odd
ball in the collection. So, this new edition will fit in quite nicely with
the other two Dick Specials, and the 2nd series Colt Agent.

BTW, this same day I had a chance too obtain a used ('bout an 80
per center) 80 series Colt Gold Cup with a few accessories, in the
original box with manual for $749.88. Boy, I'm just gett'in over the
holiday expenses and was runn'in low on cash; or it too would have
been mine~!:uhoh: ;) :D

Many thanks Walkalong My Friend-

I hated too give up the Lawman, but I think in this case it was well worth it;
as the new (to me) Colt DS has a fantastic double-action for such a small
revolver. Its serial also dates back to 1966*, the same as the other blued
model in my inventory.

*Footnote- as per www.ProofHouse.com

BTW, I'm not a TIDE HATER like many of my co-hort's. I have mutual respect
for both schools; but I have been a solid VOL's fan for 52 years now.;) :D
