I stopped by my local shop today with the intention of buying some cleaning supplies and I walked out with an FN PBR XP in .308!

This was a deal I just could pass up and I jumped on it the minute I saw sitting behind the counter. Apparently someone had brought it in only a few hours before and put it on consignment, so it never even made it on the display rack.

According to the shop manager this FN once belonged to Andy the gunsmith that worked that the shop. He was a great guy and an amazing gunsmith but sadly he died of a heart attack a couple years ago. The rifle at the time still had the original Hogue stock on it but Andy had done some work on the trigger and bolt. The gun went out on the shelf and I remember almost buying it but I considered the price too high at the time.

Well apparently the person who ended up buying it added quite a bit to it including the following:
McMillan A5 Tactical Stock
Accu-Shot Precision Monopod - Locking version
CDI Precision Gunworks triggerguard with two AICS 10 round mags
HBBR-S Harris Bipod

When I asked the clerk what the price was on it I was expecting some outrageous amount. Hell I remember when this same rifle was being sold by the shop with the factory Hogue stock on it they were asking $1,200 for it. Well the price on it this time was $1,000! So yeah, of course I bought it!

As it turns out back in March I purchased an FN TSR XP in .308 for $1,200 and it came with a Sightron 4-16x42mm SII Big Sky Mil Dot scope. The scope alone was worth about $600 new so I got a smokin' deal on that rifle as well!

Well I decided to take the Sightron scope off my TSR and put it on this new rifle instead. I was just going to sell the TSR without the scope but a buddy of mine offered to trade me his hardly used black optics ready MSAR for it. Since I'm keeping the scope I told him I would give him just the TSR rifle without the scope plus $600 in cash for his MSAR.

Here's the rifle exactly how I got it....

Those are nice! You found a great price on that, especially in consideration of the extras?! Sheesh!

Great rifle you have there, and the price is even better. But your bottom metal is not badger ordnance. It looks like cdi precision to me. CDI makes great stuff too!
Cool, thanks! I searched and searched on the internet and the closest thing I could find was Badger Ord, I think you're right it's definitely a CDI.
